That is the best way to describe my job. I experience it, I capture it and I freeze moments of joy for my couples to remember forever….and ever. I’ll be the first to admit that I hardly remember any of my little moments of Joy from my wedding day. It was the most amazing day but it was a blur. So much excitement and so much going on…. it’s hard to remember what it felt like to experience those little joyous moments. However, I when I see images from my first dance with Michael…and pictures of his expression when I was coming down the aisle….I remember it all. Pictures have such power and their ability to evoke emotional is unexplainable!

hard to “Think like a Photographer” when it came to planning my wedding.  Most of the time that just came naturally (and it got me in trouble with the budget committee… aka: Daddy) I wanted details and lighting and the layout to be perfect for pictures! I tried to think of the easiest place with good light for family portraits, bridal party portraits, our first look… etc, etc. It was tough. We got married at 3:30pm in October.  So I Googled the sunset time and planned our portraits around that. I had to realize that if we did a First Look at 1pm….the light was going to be harsh. So I needed a location with shade and diffused light.

are in for a treat this evening! You remember me talking about how I LOVE IT when couples really take ownership over their engagement session and make it their own?! Well Will and Michelle are a prime example of what I’m talking about! This e-session was unlike any I had ever shot before. It was awesome. Michelle and Will have a shared love for cooking and when they thought about what they wanted to incorporate into their engagement session, cooking was perfect. Michelle emailed me with the idea and I was thrilled! We hung out in the kitchen together and I photographed them as they fixed a meal together.

just returned home from HOME.  It’s the weirdest thing! I say, “Hey, lets go home today!” even though our “Home” is our little cape cod in Shortpump.  Michael and I grew up together and so our families live 8 minutes apart. It made the holidays easier and more complicated all at the same time. We love that we get to see both of our families and that our families have been celebrating Christmas together since BEFORE we started dating (that’s over a DECADE)…however, now that we’re married….we don’t separate at the end of the night and go back to our own families like we used to.
