Momma and I went to the gym tonight even though we didn’t want to… at all.  We were so proud of ourselves that we went to Applebee’s afterwards and had their amazing honey barbeque boneless wings! We’re bad…but they were so, so good! Before we left the gym, I was checking my emails and I received one from Erin at the Wedding Channel. Not really paying attention, I opened it, scanned over it and then put my phone down. It was only a matter of seconds before I realized what it said and I quickly re-read it for real this time!! The Wedding Channel announced today that I was their “Editor’s Pick” for the Wedding Photography Category of their Bridal Blog Awards!…

Every evening…

…the clouds would roll in, the skies became dark and the nightly tropical thunderstorm would come rolling through. It made me a little nervous. Of course, as always, Saturday came and the skies were crystal clear. I should have known that the wedding day would be perfect.  After the reception and portraits, Jason and Jen MADE MY WHOLE WEEK and opted to get in the water! In Jamaica! With awesome light! I was just beside myself!! Other couples that were married that same day were taking portraits on the dock right beside us and I immediately became the most prideful photographer ever. Yea, my clients are IN THE WATER! They’re pretty much the coolest newlyweds at the whole resort!!

Where to begin?

When I first received Jennifer’s email, I thought it was a joke. There’s no way I could be photographing a wedding in Jamaica! What a dream! This was a goal of mine that was on the bottom of the list because really, destination weddings are hard to come by, especially when you’ve only been in business for 2 years! Jennifer and I emailed back and worth and finally set up a time to meet. I loved her. Absolutely loved her. She just wanted to be married and nothing else really mattered. The thought of intense planning and inviting a ton of guests wasn’t what she had in mind. A destination wedding was the PERFECT option!
