like 4 peas in a pod. They are best friends and they’re seniors! Woohoo for graduation! It will be here before you know it! I’ve always loved senior sessions. I seem to only attract the senior girl crowd, no boys…. but I’m ok with that. I LOVE my time with these girls.  Senior sessions are supposed to be relaxed and FUN. It’s not only about the portraits, it’s about the experience, same with a wedding day.  I don’t want my bride and groom to JUST have great portraits, I want them to enjoy their time alone on their wedding day! So for these four girls, I wanted their session to be fun and relaxed and an afternoon that they’ll look back on 5 years from now and think…

The Bride’s Cafe

Last night I had the privilege of hanging out with the fabulous Janie Medley of the Brides Cafe as she hosted a night of shopping at the Shortpump Jcrew. I spent too much $$ but I loved being there! I ALSO had the privilege of meeting my friends Jodi and Kurt!  That’s right, we were friends before we met…Jodi and I have emailed on several occasions and have tried to meet up but it just never happened…until last night! I walked in the door and there they were! And what a sweet couple they are! Jodi and Kurt will be married ONE WEEK after Michael and I and Janie is doing their flowers as well! I cannot wait to see how their wedding turns out!

I swung open…


…the front door and heard the excitement.  There were girls running around everywhere! Their navy blue dresses blurred past as they made last minute touches before Jess slipped on her dress.  As Jess put on her dress, I whispered to a bridesmaid “this is my favorite part!”.  There are moments during a wedding day where all of the chaos and stress subside and everyone is caught up in that one moment.  When the bride puts on her dress, it is one of those moments.  Everyone stops and stares. This moment always happens the same way at every wedding I shoot, it never fails. Everyone in the room stops what they are doing to admire the bride and they are amazed by her beauty.

This has been…

a long time coming. I’m not a shoe girl, or a purse girl, I’m a JEWELRY girl! I love it! I buy unnecessary amounts of it and the majority of my jewelry box is TEAL. Imagine that.  So after Michael proposed and we started planning, I  immediately wanted to find my earrings for the wedding! I mean, I bought my dress 4 days after I was engaged… why wait for the jewelry right!? (I was a little excited!)  I searched everywhere. I had a picture of what I wanted in my head… but I just couldn’t find it. I checked every where… even online. So I decided to be patient and just wait for the right ones to comes along.  Sure enough, less than…
