A few days

before the wedding, it was 30 degrees in Virginia. I was hoping and praying that that wouldn’t be the case in North Carolina for the wedding Saturday! Luckily, it was in the 50′s and was perfectly sunny. To make this wedding even better, these were friend’s of Michael’s and they are the most GORGEOUS couple. Haymes (Christopher) and Becca have beautiful smiles and huge hearts and I was so honored to be a part of their celebration! However, even though I knew the couple and knew some of the guests and had my husband with me the whole time… I was still nervous. I always get butterflies before weddings. It’s like the reality of how much pressure this jobs entails hits me all at once and I become nervous.

You would

think that after shooting so many weddings, I would have remembered EVERYTHING that wedding planning should entail. Well, that is so not true. I remember it being last august and my mother mentioning “Umm, KK… are you going to have PROGRAMS for your wedding? We probably need to get on that”. I remember DREADING and I mean reallllllllly dreading designing these things because I knew that as I started to design them, we would think of more and more things we needed to add and this 1 page program would quickly become a booklet. Today was

one of those days when I feel like I haven’t gotten anything on “my list” done but yet I got SO MUCH other stuff accomplished! This afternoon was full of light fixture hanging and filling frames with prints….home projects that I have been wanting to get done for weeks! The house had a mini makeover today and I love it! Thank you daddy and Corey for sharing your snow day with us and like always, helping us with our home improvement jobs that we can’t handle on our own! …. or the jobs that we shouldn’t handle on our own….can you imagine me trying to hang light fixtures?! ha! I love you both! The house looks wonderful because of you two! So while the blog

It’s a rare

occasion that a little one hits the blog. Most of my time is spent with newly engaged couples and brides! So when a little one comes along, it’s definitely a different experience from what I’m used to. However, Beckett was quite the little model and he was such a trooper! It was 42 DEGREES!!!! This poor little guy was freezing but he still managed to give us a few smiles and even a few frowns….cute frowns….”blog worthy” frowns. I loved it. Since I’m not normally a children’s photographer, I felt like I looked rather ridiculous during Beckett’s session … tripping over roots, waving at make believe people, playing “caboose” on the make believe railroad track.
