Why invest in Products?

Brides….I’ll give you one reason….YOUR MOMMA WILL LOVE YOU FOREVER!!! Seriously! Giving momma an album from our wedding for Christmas was the BEST idea ever! You would have thought that I had just bought her a new car AND scrubbed the kitchen floor. She was SO happy!! Not only did she receive an album, we also had prints made of her favorite images…. LARGE prints. After seeing how much joy came from giving these gifts, I thought about how often brides don’t do anything with their images. It’s heartbreaking for a photographer. I understand how time consuming it can be

Feb 24th Justin and Mary Marantz will be presenting “How to Be a Rainmaker” at 9am at WPPI! ….. and I’m going to be there! (as long as I can get my iced caramel macchiato beforehand…which, if you’ve ever been to WPPI, you would know that you have to get in the Starbucks line reaaaallll early!). Justin and Mary have been on my “Blogs to check daily” list for years….well 2 to be exact. I started following them when I started this crazy business and I’ve had to privilege to attend their Spread the Love Tour and meet them in person. This couple constantly amazes me with their willingness to share and teach others! Between Justin’s camera-genius skills

I was leaving

a senior session in Fredericksburg when my phone rang. Beth said “Hello, Katelyn?!” in her sweet little voice and she asked how I was. You see, I was in the midst of wedding planning AND wedding season and if anyone knows how busy my life was last year it’s Eric and Beth. I was constantly having to come to v-team meetings late or leave retreats early in order to shoot a wedding…. my prayer request during planning times was always “Dear Lord don’t let my business go under! I just need to graduate and get MARRIED!”. Beth and Eric were my staff workers for Intervarsity Christian Fellowship all throughout

Coming together

with other photographers is one of those things that we all SAY we love to do and NEED to do.. but when it comes down to actually making it happen, it rarely does. If we’re honest, it seems to be much easier for us to stay in our homes and on our computers. When we stay at our computers, it’s a safe space where we don’t have to put ourselves out there, we don’t have to make conversation and we’re in our own little bubble. Am I the only one that feels like this?! I sure hope not! I enjoy meeting new people and forming new friendships and once I’m in a room with fun, friendly photographers, I LOVE IT!

Can’t believe

that it has been a YEAR since some of these sessions. How did 2010 fly by SO fast?! Wow. I’m sitting there looking through these images and I can’t help but realize how much I have been blessed this past year in my business. I’ve had amazing clients and opportunities throughout 2010 and I’m so thankful. This job is so much more than just creating beautiful images….it’s about the people…..the beautiful people that believe in me and allow me to share life with them. I cannot express how incredibly thankful I am for my 2010 couples. You have truly blessed my life and have reminded me of why I LOVE photography and PEOPLE!
