This was a

bad session for me to shoot RIGHT when I’m having puppy fever! I want a puppy so badly!! Just a little one… that’s sweet and cute and furry. I pulled up to John’s house and Colleen explained that they had a yellow lab named Bubba and that her parents would be bringing Captain along to join us for some shots as well. Little did I know that Captain would be the CUTEST little puff ball I had ever seen in my life! He’s a teacup poodle and he’s full grown. You’re not going to believe how adorable he is!! So John and Colleen are the epitome of “dog people”.

Today I am

in NYC shooting an engagement session. HOLY COW!!! I’m so excited!!…. and nervous. This city is awesome and HUGE so I have to try to capture the “NYC” feel and also shoot genuine images of my clients. I’m not too worried because this couple is AWESOME!!! Be looking out for this session SOON! Ok, so I know “Featured” blog posts are BORING. So BORING. However, I really just do them to keep a portfolio for myself (and they make EASY, QUICK posts! haha Just being honest!!) So please stick with me and this not-so-exciting Monday post… tomorrow’s will be more interesting, I PROMISE! You’ll love it… it involves puppies!

Well, I posted

WAY too many pictures this time. I really have a problem with narrowing down images for the blog. I thought it would get better with time. You know, after posting HUGE blog posts for two years, I thought I would get tired of all the work and would start selecting less images to post. Well, that day still hasn’t come. I’m still posting a BAZILLION images because I love showing them! My couples are amazing and we work hard at their e-sessions to create great images… so why not share them!? Right!? Maybe it’s the

red and black color scheme… or the Bridsemaid’s tall heels and bold jewelry… but something about this wedding makes me think of Rock and Roll. So even though that wasn’t the theme, I’ll probably always refer to Aaron and Katie’s wedding as the Rock and Roll wedding. It was bright and bold and the weather was absolutely perfect! The guys wished it was a few degrees cooler but they always say that. I’ll take a sunny, 78 degree wedding any day! Aaron and Katie were married at the Historic Kinloch in Caret, Virginia. The ceremony took place outside under the willow tree just as the sunlight was turning into a soft, golden glow. It was beautiful.

If you’re a bride

like me, I had big dreams and huge ideas but no way of knowing how to make those ideas come to life. If I wanted gorgeous arrangements as my centerpieces, where do I order vintage birdcages in bulk? And where can I find large quantities of olive green moss…. not FOREST GREEN… Olive green. (I was very specific) I knew what I wanted in my head but it was really hard to find all the right pieces to make it happen. Finding local vendors that have creative vision and a love for trying something new is the BEST way to make awesome ideas happen!
