A Little Goes a Long Way | Bridal Party Tables
how to make simple centerpieces

It doesn’t take

much to make a pretty image. One vase with one peony would make me happy and keep me busy for a while! Those flowers are so photogenic! So often brides get so overwhelmed with having a MILLION DETAILS! I understand this. I was one of those brides! I wanted details everywhere and they WERE EVERYWHERE. I went a little overboard. However, not every wedding has to have over the top decor on every table. Simple is good! In this Wedding Wednesday post I’m going to show you just how many detail shots can be taken from just a simple bridal party table display. This was just ONE piece of Buddy and Jill’s beautiful farm wedding a few weekes ago.

Laura's Bridals

It was Michael’s

day off and so we drove to Charlottesville to meet a friend for lunch and then drove through the rolling hills to Barboursville Vineyard .  We were meeting Laura there to shoot her bridal session and as soon as we pulled up, I knew this was going to be a fun one! Old ruins? Fields of daffodils?! Yes please! Laura looked amazing and so natural. I never did a bridal session before my wedding and every time I shoot one for somebody else, It makes me wish I had! Maybe I still will! Bridal sessions are awesome because they allow the bride to get comfortable in her dress AND in her shoes! It’s like a trial run!

It’s May 16th

and I have been DREADING this post for sometime now. It’s really not something I have been looking forward to. I knew April would be a little crazy but I thought I would at LEAST have gotten some more Thank you notes done! Ugh. Why is this so HARD?! I have them sitting by the couch so whenever we’re watching TV, I can work on them! Well, whenever I stop working and Michael comes home and we’re watching TV, I really don’t feel like writing Thank You notes… I just want to relax! Michael and I are SO incredibly thankful for everyone that participated in our wedding and supported us…. I’m just

I’m always a

little nervous before an engagement session. I’m just being honest! It needs to be fun and relaxed and enjoyable for the couple….. but I always have to get some “money shots”.  (If you’re new the to blog, a “Money Shot” is defined as: A shot that AWESOME, blog-worthy and worth big bucks!!)  So the pressure is on when I’m photographing an e-session but I love it. I really do. Kelsey and Dan are an incredible couple and I had heard that from mutual friends but after spending an evening with them, I got to experience their awesome-ness for myself! I love these two and I secretly wish I didn’t have to wait all summer for their wedding!
