As soon as…

we moved in I knew I wanted to do this. It was one of those projects that really wasn’t NECESSARY… but OHHH if we could make it happen, it would transform the living room! When Michael and I got married, we bought a little cape cod in the west end of Richmond and we adore it. When I picture a “first home” type of house… this is exactly what comes to mind. No closet space, hitting shoulders when we’re both trying to brush our teeth in our tiny little bathroom, and a cozy little living room. We love it. My Little Brother isn't so Little Anymore

Well this

is a strange post to write. This is senior session… but it’s not any senior… it’s my little brother. Corey is 6 years younger than me and I say he’s my “little” brother but that title really doesn’t fit anymore. He’s taller than me and we realized several months ago that I have to start hugging him differently. I used to put my arm around his shoulder… now his shoulders are way too tall for that. He’s all grown up! If you’ve followed the blog for a while, you’ve heard all about Corey. You’ve heard about his golfing, his dream of becoming a pilot , his first solo flight and how he serves other people like no other 17 year old I’ve ever met.

I think

God knew what He was doing when He planned out this wedding season. I’ll be honest, I had moments of feeling tired and stuck in a rut. I had weeks where Friday would come and I didn’t feel excited to leave for another wedding because I was still tired from the one I shot the week prior. However, once November came, I could see the end was in sight and “the end” was Bev and Craig’s wedding. It was perfect. This was the BEST way to end my 2011 season because Bev and Craig are the type of couple that give me energy and inspire me to finish strong. They aren’t just an extremely photogenic couple, they are some of our closest friends and to be the one who spent the MOST time with them on their wedding day makes

haven’t been doing “Part I” and “Part II” posts this season because I love showing a full weddings in one post. But every now and then there are weddings where there are just too many images to show! If I fit all of my favorites that show off this wedding day in one post, it would be the BIGGEST wedding post yet! (And NO ONE would be able to load it!!) If only

I could get as motivated to COOK as I do when I’m decorating. I need to find a way to channel that excitement towards the kitchen. My family is at home working on preparing food and I’m posting a Wedding Wednesday post about PLACE SETTING ideas and I couldn’t be more content. If only I had the desire to make casseroles and make a mess in the kitchen and try a ton a new recipes. Ugh. It just doesn’t do anything for me. I like the “pretty stuff”…. the “eye candy” if you will. The food is GREAT, don’t get me wrong. However, the only reason I like to get involved with Thanksgiving food preparation is to set up the table.
