I realized

yesterday that I have hit the age where I don’t really care to be any older. 23 was nice…. why not stay 23? Forever! 24 just sounds so old! (all of you past 30 are rolling your eyes, I know). I remember being 18 and thinking, “oh my gosh!” I’m not going to be a “teenager” in two years! This is CRAZY!!! Now I’m married and only one year away from being 25?!! That’s halfway to 50!!!!! Time is flying! And I’m loving life. Really, I’m so thankful for my life and for all that God has given me. He has blessed me in so many ways and I just hope that when people see me, they see Him because nothing else in life matters.

Color.

I love color!!! And I’ve realized this so much this year. I really didn’t think much about it until I started reading comments about how people enjoyed the colors in my images. After a while I realized that my color really does define a lot of my “style”. I like it BRIGHT!! And BOLD! I don’t have a vintage-muted-faded- look. However, I do LOVE the coloring of film and there are times that I grow jealous of those photographers that can achieve those soft, muted tones. I grow so jealous sometimes that I find myself playing with presets to see if I can mirror their look…. but then I walk away from the computer and

It’s hard to believe

that 2011 is over. I feel like it was just 2010 and I was getting married!! Am I still a newlywed?!! It’s been over a year….hmmm.. I wonder when that title goes away? Anyway, I’ve been so blessed to have such amazing couples this year! It’s so wonderful to look through these images and be reminded of all of these fun sessions! I realized that this year was filled with a lot of BIG TREES and beautiful people!! If you start counting the number of big tree shots I took this year, there are a quite a few of them! I love these

posts! They are so much fun and did I mention EASY?! I’ve already blogged these images once, I just have to gather them up again and wa-la! It’s a fun post recapping an amazing year of BLING! Whew! Countless diamonds have passed through my hands and I’m happy to say that I’ve never dropped one in a drain or in a river… I’m VERY careful! (All the newly engaged gals out there are gasping at the thought of that!:) I love ring shots and the reason I’m doing a “Recap” post on BLING is because I made it a goal last year to get better at my ring shots. I only took a few ring shots in 2010 that I really LOVED and so I wanted to improve.

Twas the

day after Christmas and all through the house were piles of tissue paper, giftcards and leftover ham. All the gifts are open and the excitement has turned into relaxation. We had an amazing day yesterday. We started in Richmond and Michael and I exchanged gifts. After we were done and I was using my magic cereal bowl (the cereal and the milk stays separate, it’s amazing!!!!) and Michael handed me a little package. I was somewhat confused because I thought we were done giving gifts. I opened this little package and found a little teal leash with a dog tag titled “Elley Alsop”.
