The P31 Conference

may be a part of the wonderful Facebook group for female photographers that is Pursuit 31.   A year ago, this group was just beginning and since its’ launch, it has exploded! Women like having a place to connect and share about their lives, their faith and their businesses.  Karen Stott headed up this group and has become a sweet friend over the course of this year and I’m so excited for her as she branches out and pursues BIG dreams and all that God has for her. When she contacted me about the Pursuit 31 Conference I was incredibly honored and somewhat confused.

dreamed of living on a hill. Like, a BIG hill….. a hill that is borderline a small mountain! I grew up living in the country and my parent’s house is on a small hill and I loved it! Whenever I travel over Afton Mountain, I just think of how awesome it would be to walk out on my front porch and be able to see for MILES and MILES! Hey, a girl can dream. Last week I shot a quick session for our friend’s Craig and Jessica in Crozet, VA. This little town outside of Charlottesville stole my heart. needs a hobby. My hobby used to be photography. In college, my favorite thing to do in my free time was hangout with people, take pictures and then post them to facebook. I literally have hundreds of personal albums on my facebook account! But after Photography became my career….. it started to feel less and less like a hobby. I have to be really careful that I shoot for ME sometimes and not JUST during sessions and weddings. After doing this for three years, I’ve realized that there are other creative outlets in my life that give me a break from photography.  I love to sing Adele and play the piano (by ear, I have no idea how to read music… I wish I did!).
