Emailed me and have asked about my branding. Who made your website? (I did, because I’m a Showiteer!! Woopwoop!:) Who made your logo and your blog and how did you decide on TEAL? And how did you make people REMEMBER you and keep coming back to your blog? These are questions I receive all the time and they are GREAT questions!! REALLY great questions. When I think about the photographers that I LOVE following… they all have something in common. They all share a simliar marketing strategy and it WORKS. These photographers all use what I like to call “Brand Boosters”.

It’s been a

WARM winter here in Virginia for the most part. We’ve experienced 50-70 degree days almost WEEKLY and while it doesn’t do much for my longing for a snow storm, it is nice for shooting portraits! Cary and Clint are from out of town and it’s very seldom that they are both together in Richmond. My Office Closet Makeover

have read on my January Snapshot that I wanted to clean out the massive disaster that was my office closet. This closet has been the “oh just throw it in there” area since the day we moved in. Junk EVERYWHERE. Just opening the doors made me shutter. I couldn’t find anything, light stands were falling everywhere and there was trash… yes, TRASH stored in there! Old cardboard boxes and packaging bubble wrap were stuffed in the back corner and old files were jammed into folders. It was a MESS. was a great break for me. It had been over a month since I had photographed a wedding and so I felt like I was ready to roll again! The forecast was great and the venue was close to home… this was going to be a wonderful New Years Eve wedding. Michael and I grabbed lunch at Chik-fil-a and then I headed out. I kissed him goodbye and told him “I’ll see you next year!!”…… He jokingly rolled his eyes at my bad joke and I got in my car and laughed at my rare streak of funniness all the way to interstate 64. Many don’t

realize this… but the bridal bouquet has a super power. Yes, it does. I’m not exaggerating or over analyzing…the bouquets on a wedding day have SUCH a huge effect on the images!! If you look at the majority of my wedding blog posts, the POP of color normally comes from the bouquets! They add so much! The florals of the wedding day have the ability to tie EVERYTHING together. From the boutonnieres to the centerpieces at the reception… the bouquets can incorporate it all! When brides emails me in a panic about the floral costs and they say they just want to do fake silk flowers instead…
