There are

some girls that are just downright SWEET… and then some that are sweet AND hilarious! Abby can bring a smile to ANYONE’s face and that… that is a GIFT! She started following my blog a year-ish ago and I have been SO blessed by her sweet comments and encouragement!! I loved her and I had never even MET her… until this past fall. She came to my November Workshop Experience and it felt like I was meeting an old friend! She just EXUDES joy and it’s no wonder people are attracted to her and her fabulous business! entered the industry, there were things that were “cool”… and the “in” thing to do. One of those things was to buy a Shootsac and a cover to go with every outfit! Yes, Jessica Claire got a lot of money from me my first year in business because I was OBSESSED! I still LOVE my Shootsac and if I’m “light” shooting… like for fun or on a trip, the Shootsac may come in handy again. best friends, Steph, texted me early one morning and asked “So are you going to The Fix in DC?”. Maybe I was just half asleep or maybe I was just REALLY out of it that day but I seriously thought she was referring to some kind of Rally that included marching the National Mall and “Fixing” something! THAT’S what went through my head initially. I texted back and asked what in the world was she talking about and she responded with “Jstar’s thing!”. What?! Jstar’s thing?! I immediately checked her blog and saw her big announcement about The Fix. Ohhhhh…. it all made sense now.

People ask

and I feel like I go blank. They say “So how did you start? How did you get where you are today?” ….. And I don’t have a 5 step program. I wish I did. 5 step programs make everything so much easier. Just do this, this and this and you’ll have a successful business. Welp, unfortunately, it doesn’t work like that. It would be so nice if we could all buy a “Photographer’s Startup Kit” but they don’t exist. They don’t exist because everyone’s story into photography is different… and thank goodness for that! If we all followed a 5 step program, we would have matching blogs, the same editing style and the same business all together. How boring!!!
