Hello to the

late afternoon crowd! I’ve been running around like crazy today and I’m just now getting a chance to sit down at the computer for an hour before the next event of the day begins. I’ve been doing things like grocery shopping, speaking at a local high school’s photo class, grabbing a quick lunch with my husband before he drives to DC for class and searching for a 16×20 white frame at all the local Targets so that I can finish my “Production Wall” Re-vamp. I feel much better after I list what I’ve spent all morning doing because I really HATE being a late blogger! Ugh. Who wants to read a blog post at 3:30 in the afternoon? Everyone is tired and ready to be HOME!

I’ve been

gone ALL week. Tuesday I shot a bridal session and then drove to Virginia Tech to visit my sis before she graduates and enters the REAL world. (Seriously, watching 3 movies a day and hanging out with your best friends unfortunately isn’t the real world) But it’s fun to act like I’m still in college every now and then. After the VT trip, I met Michael for a conference and we’re in the mountains until tomorrow. Normally people would be away from home and miss their bed, or their routine…… but I miss this furry little face. After 3 days away from him I forget that he chewed a hole in the carpet last week, I forget that unfortunately he isn’t 100% potty trained

It was like

a had received a massive box from Jcrew or something! I was estatic! When my MarkIII arrived I could have hugged the UPS man but I refrained! I was excited but also somewhat nervous. Ya know when you take friends to a movie that you LOVED and you’re just HOPING they think it lives up to the rave review you given it? That’s what I felt like with this camera. I have talked it up, I’ve shared my excited with the internet AND my whole family… so now was the moment of truth…. was it amazing and was it a worthwhile investment? Well, the overall answer to this questions issss… dun, dun, dun…… YES! And I’ll explain why in this post!

There are

things about my wedding day that I wouldn’t change AT ALL…. I wouldn’t even touch them! It was perfect… the beginning, the middle, the end.. I loved it ALL. 10.10.10 was undoubtably the best day of our life! It’s really kinda unexplainable how awesome it was! I remember such VIVID moments about that day. Like lining up with our bridal party before our big entrance into the reception! People were EVERYWHERE, the candy bar was already half eaten, guests were in my mom’s sunroom waving at us before we walked through the flower covered arbor and everyone was trying to take pictures of their own to capture the moment.

The radar

wasn’t in our favor. Thursday and Friday, Sara and I sent countless emails trying to decide what to do. 60% chance of storms was a big risk to take and I had seen photog friends from all over the east coast tweeting about the big storm that was about to sweep across the region. I had been looking forward to meeting these two for a while and because they live in different STATES… it would be hard to reschedule… so we went for it. Instead of shooting in the evening, we took a chance at started at 2:30! To our surprise, the weather was PERFECT. The dark clouds didn’t start rolling in until literally our LAST FEW SHOTS….
