Packaging Perks

Little Pretty Things Still Matter
packaging

Well I am

literally on my way to the airport. Like, I’m in the car, typing on an iPad so please forgive the typos! I’m shooting a wedding in CA tomorrow and I couldn’t be more excited!! It’s going to be beautiful!! So today I’m sharing a little peek of my packaging!!! This post is long overdue! I’ve been using this packaging for a while and I can’t believe I haven’t blogged it yet! Last year I decided that I was tired of CD’s. My disk drive was going bad and the burning process was burning me out (haha I crack myself up:). So I opted for a more modern option….the flash drive. It’s small, it’s easy and it’s compact!

Defining Your Style

It didn’t happen

on a specific DAY or at ONE specific shoot.  As much as I WISHED for an overnight success, it didn’t happen that way for me. My first 8 months in business I felt like I was wandering.  I saw images that I loved and STYLES that I wanted to emulate but I just didn’t know how to get there. Gradually, over the course of a few weddings and several engagement sessions… it started to CLICK! I started to realize that my work was evolving into a STYLE. What do I mean by a “Style”?  Well, most photographers have a style of their own.  It’s a  consistent pattern of shooting and editing styles that make him or her unique.

The First Look

Some of you may

be thinking “Hasn’t she already blogged about this topic?!”… And the answer to that question would be “Yes”.  I have confessed my deep love for “First Looks” numerous times on the blog and I tend to point them out in every blog post. There is a reason for this. They’re AWESOME.  However, not everyone is aware of how awesome they are because they get caught up in how “un-traditional” it is and they immediately write it off.  I can talk about those brides because I almost was one of those brides. I wanted a REACTION….I wanted Michael to be so surprised and overcome with joy when I walked down the aisle that

Coaching

COACHING-JUNE-2012

A few months

ago I announced that I was now offering “Coaching Sessions” once a month for two photographers.  And like most of my ideas… they always need a little tweaking.  This is the second round of coaching sessions since they were announced and I think I’ve finally figured it out! I want this experience to be three things for the photographer’s that attend: 1.FUN  2. PERSONAL and  3. A GAME CHANGER. I want photographers to leave these sessions feeling like they can take on the world and totally make this dream of theirs happen!  In order for me to really get to know each photographer well and hear about where they are

Some people

just have certain features about them that get noticed so easily.  You know the people I’m talking about. It’s the people always get compliments on their hair… or their teeth…. Or their TAN (I definitely don’t get compliments about my TAN… it’s non-existent!).  For me, I guess people notice my hair… that’s probably because it’s ORANGE! It’s something that sets me a part just a little.  For Alyson, it’s her EYES. This girl has some AMAZING eyes and I’ll be honest, I didn’t realize just how big and beautiful they really were until I was all up in her space taking her senior portraits!! When you’re taking portraits of someone and you’re shooting REALLY close, it’s easy
