Every bride

worries about a rainy wedding day. It’s just a natural fear. But what most brides CAN’T do is just shake it off when that fear becomes a reality. It was raining on Friday for Matt and Sara’s wedding and when I arrived, I asked Sara has she was feeling.  Her response was this ”I mean, I can’t change it!”. So true. So she went on with her wedding day as if the skies were blue and filled with white puffy clouds. I’m so thankful for that because great attitudes MAKE a wedding day. The bridal party, the familes, EVERYONE was excited about this day that had been anticipated for SO long and a little bit of drizzly rain wasn’t going to steal their joy!

I have

officially finished my whirlwind of travel and weddings and mission trips and vacations.  It’s a crazy lifestyle but it’s what we’re used to it. I remember being in high school and going on a mission trip and then turning around and leaving for family vacation or cheerleading camp the NEXT DAY. So in some ways, we’ve been trained to handle the go,go,go schedule.  What I HAVEN’T been trained for is how to handle  LAUNDRY! … And the GROCERY SHOPPING and the CLEANING (Poor momma, she tried to teach me but I wasn’t interested at 16).  Thank goodness my sister has been around to help keep my life straight this summer!

I can’t believe

we’ve been puppy parents for over 5 months now. It seems like yesterday we introduced this little ball of orange fluff into our lives.  He’s full grown now (or so they say) and he’s about 12 lbs. He’s practically perfect in every way… except for the days when he decides to shred a paper towel into a billion pieces or poop under a chair because he thinks no one will find it. I’ve got news for you Bokeh Boy, anyone could smell you from a mile away! You’re small but you sure can stink up a room! But seriously, besides a few minor issues, he’s a wonderful dog. He’s almost too smart! As soon as I pick up the hairdryer he knows that I’m getting ready to leave the house and he hides!

I’ve been

waiting for this day for a LONG TIME!!! I LOVE shooting friend’s weddings… especially friends that we have been able to watch their relationship unfold over the last several years. I remember living next door to Ryan in college and seeing Shannon walk across our backyard to go hangout with him. (Sounds like I was a creeper looking through the windows… but you could see everything from the Middle House kitchen! :) A few of her friends hung out next door for a few weeks and then we started to notice that JUST Shannon was hanging out at the guy’s house more and more. It wasn’t long before they were official. Ryan and Shannon started dating and they were inseparable. They were best friends from the start and

You’re probably

thinking “Katelyn you say EVERYTHING is important on a wedding day!” and I can see how you would think that. I JUST blogged about reception lighting and how it’s so great to have and I’ve blogged about details and the importance of themes… etc, etc. The thing is, I know that not EVERYONE has a budget to pull everything off. When I got married I didn’t have a budget that could pull everything off either! So this post is about ONE part of the wedding day that can change the LOOK of the overall wedding day dramatically! This post is about the bridal bouquet. I’m not talking about the bridesmaid’s florals or even the centerpieces…
