Ever since

I really got to know Amber I’ve been hearing “Oh, you’re doing my senior pics!”. ha! She’s been talking about this for a WHILE and we FINALLY got them done this past week! Amber is entering her senior year and I can’t believe how fast these two+ years have flown by. One minute I’m meeting sophomores in highschool and the next minute they’re graduating!! It’s crazy!! So Amber know exactly what she wanted for her portraits. She wanted to shoot them on her family’s farm in Goochland. It’s a beautiful location with rustic barns, old tractors, barking hunting dogs and a lot of golden light that was so perfect for her portraits!!

I was on

my way home from a wedding in Northern VA when I realized that I had hit the point in my drive where gummy bears were needed. Gummies and a DMD (Diet Mountain Dew)… all of you health nuts out there are probably cringing. I know, it’s so bad but on this particular night I was tired…. really tired. It had been a long week and I had just shot a long wedding. (I will have you know that I have significantly reduced my DMD intake and I’m quite proud of myself!). So I pulled off the Stafford exit to make a quick stop at WAWA, my all time favorite convenience store, and I parked. This week

Michael and I have been working on our budget. Don’t you want to come hangout with US?! We’re so much fun to be around… especially during “budget meetings”…. I’m kidding. That’s the LAST place I want to be. I’m horrible at holding onto receipts and every time I type some large quantity of numbers into the calculator I end up hitting ONE wrong number and have to start over!! It’s a painful process but it has to be done. Not only are we budgeting for our personal life but we’re also budgeting for the business as well. I’ve actually never budgeted expenses out for the business

We’ve been in

Richmond over two years…. which means we’ve known some of our youth group kids for over two years. So normally, I would be able to know exactly what to expect from the ones we know best. Well, that’s not true with Brendan. I honestly had no clue what to expect from him during his senior portraits…. and as you look through his pictures, you’ll know what I mean by that!! Brendan and Michael were close from the very beginning and I can’t believe this young, goofy sophomore kid that we met two years ago has grown up and is heading to college in a year! Time is flying by!!

I wish

I could shoot more of these sessions because they’re just so much fun… but unfortunately, I have to save my few extra evenings for just our friends and family’s shoots! Last Monday, it was Brendan and Rachel’s turn! We’ve known these two for a while and so when they asked about having their senior portraits done, we decided to do them on the same day and them have a double date afterwards! Our plan worked out and Michael was able to join us for the shoot and dinner afterwards! So this is Rachel’s post (Brendan’s is coming soon… get ready for that one:) and I just have to say
