Who do you

LOVE to follow?! I’ve been wanting to do a post about this for a while now! Why? Well because I love hearing about photographers that other photographers follow! We are living in a digital age where EVERYONE knows of SOMEONE who shoots for a living. However, because the industry is so over saturated, sometimes some of the most AMAZING photographers are over shadowed…. and that’s sad! I’m not one

to get into technology debates. Maybe that’s because I never feel like I’ve mastered anything enough to add my two cents… even though most of the debates that I hear are between people that don’t ever shoot WEDDINGS! So here I am shooting every weekend and yet I don’t want to offer my opinion about certain lenses or flashes or ISO settings because I feel inferior. Umm, I need to get over that!! I’ve shot over 100 weddings and so I THINK I should be able to have an opinion on some things. Maybe I’m

the only one that feels like this. Maybe EVERYONE else in the world is actually DOING something with their Pinterest account. Or maybe the worldwide phenomenon that is called “Pinterest” is GREAT for inspiration but after a while… it just becomes sad. It’s sad because I’ve never made a recipe, I’ve never sewed those DIY pillows and I haven’t even attempted to organize my kitchen “In 3 simple steps”. I get on Pinterest and I immediately feel a RUSH of excitement!! So many pretty things ALL at one time… and all in one place! … It’s a girls DREAM! ….

They met

when they were young… they even dated when they were young….and then after they went their separate ways, somehow they ended up at the same school and back in each other’s lives. It wasn’t long before they were official again. This time it was for real. I remember Leslie telling me that they were dating and I knew this was different. There was such a certainty about this relationship and everyone felt the same thing. Maybe that’s because they look like Ken and Barbie… beautiful blue-eyed blondes…or maybe it’s much deeper than how cute they look together… maybe there is a certainty and confidence in their relationship because the foundation of their love is based on something greater than themselves.

Here we are

again. A new month. August didn’t fly by quite as fast as the other months this summer and I’m thankful. I think that’s because I had a weekend off… YESSS! We still had things to do and weren’t in town but it was a weekend away with Michael and no wedding! The Lord knows what He’s doing when he gives you a weekend of NOTHING. I know a lot of photographers (including myself) have seasons of doubt when it comes to booking for next year. We quickly become worried about those empty weekends… and I remember at one point last year thinking “Why is my AUGUST SO EMPTY?!!”.
