After shooting

weddings for over 4 years I have found that sometimes, brides tend to forget the same things over and over again. So why has it taken me four years to do this post? I have no clue!! I totally understand why these little things fall through the cracks! The bride has a million things running through her head and the last thing she’s going to remember is to grab ALL of the wedding bands so that the photographer can get a shot of them during the prep time. I was a bride once and I remember how CRAZY that morning was!! This post is for brides AND photographer to use and share in preparation for the wedding day.

It’s mid October!

Can you believe it?! I’m just trying to wrap my mind around the fact that I’m only 5 weddings away from the end of my busy wedding season! How did that happen?! I feel like it was just April and I was just getting started! Jameson and Lauren’s wedding day has seemed SO far off for such a long time, it was almost surreal to be shooting it!! Ever since their engagement session, I have been thinking about this wedding and all that Lauren was planning. She shared some ideas with me and I knew it was going to be beautiful but I had NO idea how AWESOME their theme would be!! Jameson and Lauren LOVE the water.

Jill helped

me with a wedding on Saturday and throughout conversations, she mentioned that we should join them in Charlottesville the next day to go apple picking! My first thought was “YEAA!!!!”…. and then my second thought was “but we just got back from a trip and our house is a disaster and I have 108 emails that need to be replied to and a wedding that needs to be culled … we can’t do that, no way!”….. THEN, my THIRD thought was “Katelyn, you wanted to doing something fun and fall-ish and you’re NEVER going to do it if you’re constantly waiting for “the right time” “. He’s had a

makeover everyone! If you follow me on Instagram you already know this but my mother has been grooming Bokeh Boy for the last month or so and she’s scissor happy!!! He’s so short!!! But we’re finding that his shorter hair is MUCH easier to manage, especially when it’s still somewhat warm outside. So Bokeh has had a mini makeover and I actually think that he looks more “puppy-like” than he did before! Maybe it’s the ears? I don’t know… but we like it. He’s a cutie no matter how long his hair is! I still think we need to let him be a big fluff ball every now and then!!!! Have a GREAT weekend everyone!!

I feel like

I should pinch myself! Looking back over the last two years, my blog has been full of our friend’s weddings!! First of all, it’s amazing to see all of these amazing couples starting their lives together and secondly, I’m just honored that I have been able to be a part of them!! It’s an awesome feeling to be able to serve my friends in this way and I’m so thankful I was able to be a part of Garrett and Rachel’s wedding day! This wedding day was so incredible to watch because I remember sitting on the couches at our campus bakery shop talking with Rachel about when this day would come. She was only a freshman and she had really only seen Garrett from a distance… but she liked him.
