Since I’ve

been at this for 4 years now (officially 4 years in August, CRAZY!)… I have actually been able to see TRENDS happening! Actually, I feel like the WHOLE industry has changed DRAMATICALLY in the last 5 years… am I the only one that feels that way? When I first began shooting, there were trends and DIY weddings but it was NOTHING like today’s wedding scene! Brides are totally doing their own thing and that’s especially obvious when it comes to how they style their bridesmaid’s attire! I remember being a bride and walking into one store and thinking “Welp I guess I have to find something here”.

After meeting

Jason and Shannon, I should NEVER complain about my workload. These two are SO busy with their jobs that they were traveling until 3 days before their wedding!! What?! How Shannon got everything together  and still remained so calm on her wedding day was beyond me! Super woman!!! I’m just in awe of her! Jason and Shannon are an incredible pair and their downtown Richmond wedding couldn’t have been better…. or more patriotic! Red, white and blue filled their day from beginning to end. Richmond has

so many photogenic nooks and crannies! I’ve shot at the Tredegar so many times but every time is still so different!! I’m LOVING the light TJ, Sara and I found during their shoot last week! Beautiful!! It was an amazing 80 degrees and we couldn’t have asked for a better atmosphere for shooting. Besides a few dogs running around and a loud train that passed through, we had the area to ourselves! In between their portraits we chatted about their story and their wedding plans.
