I love

TEAL….. it’s kinda obvious around here. And I love jewelry! So naturally, I really love TEAL JEWELRY! I have more teal necklaces than I do pairs of socks…. I think that’s actually true! It’s obsessive but I do wear them daily! Jewelry and accessories are a girl’s best friend if you can’t afford diamonds. Please, who needs diamonds when you can get a knockoff bubble necklace from ebay?! Accessories “make” the outfit and complete the “look”. So when I’m shooting a bride and groom, I make a point to shoot the details. Boutonniere, bouquet, necklace, dress detail, earrings etc, etc.

To some,

hanging out in the middle of nowhere Virginia with no cell service and 40 teenagers doesn’t sound like a dream weekend… but Michael and I love it. Maybe we just love these kids (which we do) … or maybe we like youth group retreats because we grew up with them… or maybe it’s a combination of the two! …. It’s most definitely a combination:) We’ve spent two plus years getting to know these kids and they are a huge part of our lives. When I’m not working or doing family stuff…. we’re with them. This is where a large chunk of our free time is spent and we wouldn’t have it any other way.

Well this

week may win the “Most Random Weekly Blog Posts Ever” award. Seriously! Between McDonalds, Christmas decor and Bokeh, I’m sure some people are thinking “Wait… I thought this girl was a photographer“! I am, but this is just one of those random blogging weeks where I’m just doing what I want! I’m in the mood for decorating ya’ll! Christmas is here and after Monday’s post I realized that I had ONE last “Before and After” post to share! I totally forgot about this little room! ….. That’s because it’s pretty forgettable. It’s one of those rooms that has a bunch of different titles and somehow seems to attract JUNK.

nervous to write this post because I don’t want it to be taken the wrong way. There are bad connotations that go along with the phrase “Going with the Flow”. As business owners, we are supposed to be UNIQUE and strive for new ideas that make us stand out and attract attention. However, I think there are a few areas where we have to pay attention to trends and adjust to them in order to stay relevant. Naturally…. this post is heading in a “Re-Branding” direction! This idea started one day while Michael and I were driving down Broad Street, heading to the Scion dealership to pick up the Toaster from it’s regular checkup…

There’s a

noticeable change happening in our life right now. It’s called “The End of Wedding Season”. It’s the time of the year when things begin to slow down a bit. I start going to bed at a decent hour… and sure, there is still a ton to be done but it’s more manageable. I have time to work on albums, hunker down on big projects and still end the workday at 6pm. The GREATEST part of this new season is that I have several WORK FREE Saturdays! Isn’t that wonderful?! I’m trying to get better at turning my “work” mind off when it’s after hours. If you’re a small business owner (aka workaholic)…. it’s hard to do. My whole family was watching the VA/VT game on Saturday
