We

drove through the winding road outside of Lexington, VA and we didn’t really know exactly where we were headed. Our iphone’s GPS was serving us well until we hit the dead spot in the mountains and for a few minutes there, we thought we were going to have to guess our way to the venue!! Luckily our signal returned and we made our way up to Irvine Estate! After a few minutes of a steep climb to tho top of the mountain, the trees opened up and it was such an amazing venue. The ceremony location overlooks what has to be one of the most beautiful views in Virginia and that’s where Noah and Kaylie tied the knot this past Saturday. After the big east coast storms blew through last week, a cold front came in and created PERFECT wedding conditions on Saturday! It was 76 and sunny!! As we started the day, Kaylie mentioned that there was this beautiful willow tree at the bottom of the mountain that she LOVED

Even

though he’s full grown and over a year and a half years old, Bokeh boy is still experiencing new things!! Friday night we had a birthday dinner for my sister and I blew up a few balloons to decorate with. I didn’t realize that one fell on the floor and before I knew it, Bokeh was having a ball!! He chased that thing for a good 30 minutes and because his little mouth isn’t wide enough to grab a hold of it, he didn’t pop it for a long time! It wasn’t until he got brave and started POUNCING on it that it finally popped! It’s amazing how one little thing can be so engaging to him! And when he gets excited about these

Yesterday

was a very important person’s birthday!! My little sister turned 23 yesterday and I still can’t believe she’s THAT old! It’s not really OLD…. but it feels old when you still remember someone as being a bleach blonde toddler who had the squeakiest voice known to man and a sweet little smile! Emily was a cutie when she was little and now she’s a beautiful 23 year old that’s doing incredible things with her life!! Emy graduated from Virginia Tech a year ago. I still feel like she should be in college!! Time is flying by! She graduated and really felt called to do ministry full time with CRU, a non-profit ministry that reaches college students.

was a time when I saw other photographer’s hosting gorgeous workshops with really awesome shoots and yet they would never blog the images!! I used to think “Gosh?! Those sneak peeks are awesome! Why aren’t you sharing those images?!”. Well, one reason could be that those workshop images were going to be featured somewhere big and they weren’t allowed to share! I totally get this now. However, I ALSO understand how, even after a feature, one could forget to blog a workshop. Why do I understand this? BECAUSE I DID IT!

So

I haven’t shared something that is really quite detrimental to my business. I don’t think I’ve talked about it because I’m in denial that it’s happening. We don’t have high speed internet at the new house. We’re using a Verizon box and everything that we do online has to be through our monthly wireless data limit. Yea. NOT COOL. So what this means is that EVERY TIME that I have a large blog post or need to upload something to PASS, I’m driving somewhere else to pick up wifi that is high speed.
