Adam + Lauren | Engaged

West Virginia, Harpers Ferry Engagement Shoot

Engaged ~ January 19, 2012

I knew

they were brave when they asked to do their engagement session in January! Lauren emailed and asked if we could schedule this shoot and said they were up for the challenge so we made it happen. This past weekend I drove up to Harpers Ferry, WV and shot Adam and Lauren’s session and it was CHILLY! Oh man was it cold! It’s already hard to get “warmed up” in front of the camera, figuratively speaking… but we LITERALLY needed to get them warmed up! The 30 degree day was definitely a challenge but they made it happen and I’m so thankful

Clint + Cary | Engaged

Winter Richmond Engagement Shoot

Engaged ~ January 9, 2012

It’s been a

WARM winter here in Virginia for the most part. We’ve experienced 50-70 degree days almost WEEKLY and while it doesn’t do much for my longing for a snow storm, it is nice for shooting portraits!  Cary and Clint are from out of town and it’s very seldom that they are both together in Richmond. So when Cary emailed me and asked if New Years Day would be a possibility for a quick engagement shoot, of course I agreed. I understand tough schedules and being apart, Michael and I lived that life for a couple years and it’s hard to make

Josh + Lena | Engaged

Charlottesville Engagement | UVA & Pippin's Hill Vineyards

Engaged ~ November 18, 2011

It amazes

me at how BUSY some of these brides are. Lena contacted me months ago and we set up their engagement session.  This was the only time they could get together and make it happen.  Josh is in Med school and Lena has an internship several hours away from him. Oh long distance……it’s hard! However, I kinda like shooting engagement sessions for couples that don’t get to see each other every single day because this time for them is EXTRA special! They cherish their time more because they don’t get a lot of it! So as soon as I met these two, I knew it was going to be a great shoot. Their Save-the-Date idea was genius,

TJ + Meredith

A JMU Engagement Session

Engaged ~ November 14, 2011

The blog

is a wonderful thing. It allows me to connect with people and attract brides that really love my style and my business. I’m SO fortunate to be working with brides that have been blog-stalkers for some time now! It’s GREAT!!! …. And let me explain why. Meredith and TJ are a great example. Meredith and I (and the rest of the family) met months and months ago to chat about their wedding.  We squeezed some extra chairs in my little office and I instantly loved them…. all of them.  Mom, Dad, fiance’…. they were awesome. Meredith cares so much a her images and that makes us a perfect match! She knows my style and she really understands the

Josh + Mandy | Engaged

Vintage Farm Engagement | Lake Gaston

Engaged ~ November 8, 2011

You remember

these two… how can you forget them? I secretly shot their proposal and blogged it several months ago.  I’m happy to say that this time, I didn’t hit my face on a table or act like a nervous wreck. Whew! Engagement sessions are a lot easier than secretly shooting a proposal! If you haven’t seen that post, you can read it HERE and you should, because it will give you a little background on this amazing couple. I was Josh’s neighbor in college and Mandy was one of my roommates senior year. I’m sure you’re thinking “Gosh, how many roommates does she have?!”.  I had quite a few and we’re all super close. However, Mandy has a special place in my heart.
