We met

this week at the beautiful Tuckahoe Plantation for their engagement pictures. I knew they were excited because I’ve been emailing with Patricia for what seems like forever!! :) However, I didn’t know until our session that she had a COUNTDOWN going for their eshoot!! So cute! I just love these two! Evan and Patricia met at their church and are finishing up at Virginia Tech. I totally remember those days. It’s tough to plan a wedding AND graduate AND figure out where you’re going to live AND find jobs. Whew! It seems like just yesterday Michael and I were in the same situation.

Brendan + Jenna | Engaged

I knew

Brendan before I knew Jenna. Brendan was the sweet guy next door that was always looking out for us girls. Like every year at college, the new freshman arrived and new faces began to pop up here and there. Jenna was one of those new faces. I met her and I loved her immediately. Throughout the following year, Jenna’s best friend Rachel started talking to Garrett and so naturally, Jenna started hanging out at the guys house too! I remember seeing her and Brendan sitting together one day in the living room and the thought crossed my mind “Oh now THAT would be cute! They’re both GINGERS!!!”.

There

are some things that you just can’t plan. They are out of your control completely. Cherry Blossoms and traffic are two of those things. You never know when they will be in full bloom and you can NEVER estimate DC traffic! I met Jeff and Rosie at Jeff’s home in Vienna before their shoot and planned to ride into the city together since parking was going to be nearly impossible for two cars. We shot a few images around Jeff’s amazing home and then we hopped in the car! Rosie’s mom and Jeff’s mom were so kind to drive us into DC! Kevin + Erika | Proposal

emailed me with a strange request. I’m used to boyfriends, fiance’s and husbands purchasing coaching sessions for their significant others but this one was different. Kevin emailed and asked if I would consider adding one more coaching date to my calendar for his girlfriend Erika. This month was a super busy one for us and so my initial reaction was “Well maybe we could make this work later in the summer!”…. and then I read the rest of his email. He explained that Erika was a big fan and she has been pursuing photography for a while now. She loved the blog and my business and it would be a dream come true to have a coaching session with me.

I follow

a lot of blogs…. it’s true. Not as many as I used to… but the list is still long! Bayside Bride is one of those blogs. I just loved how classy it was and I also loved that it was started by to friends that loved weddings and were based on the east coast! One of those gals is Natalie Franke… and not only does she have a part in running this amazing blog, she’s also an incredible photographer in the Annapolis area! When I saw she was engaged I remember randomly telling Michael “Awww… I want to shoot her wedding! She seems so sweet!”. I said that not having a clue if Natalie even knew who I WAS!
