We’re

realizing more and more that we are slowly becoming photographers for “Photographers”. I’ll probably do a post about this in the future one day but what I mean by that is we’re realizing that almost ALL of our brides are either professional photographers or own a decent SLR camera and really care about the quality of their images!! It’s a great target audience to have because these brides are ALL ABOUT their pictures!! Photography isn’t just another vendor to check off the list… they realize that these images will eventually tell the story of this exciting season of their life!

Recently,

I have found myself doing these shoots quite often…. I’ve actually done 2 in the last 10 days. PROPOSALS. YIKES! Talk about a nerve racking job!!! Jr is one of our good friends and so when he asked if we were available to document this, we told him we would love to be there. It really is an honor to document a proposal but GOSH it’s scary!! Picture this…. Michael and I are waiting in a little parking lot on the side of the James River anticipating JR and Sarah’s arrival. One downfall of having red hair is that it’s VERY noticeable. So in situations like this, I have to be covered up.

Today

is a sick day. I have a cold and while it’s no fun, I’m SO thankful that it’s happening now and not on a wedding day!! It’s actually the perfect day to have a cold because I’m spending all day in my office editing, emailing and filing paperwork! Doesn’t that sound like so much FUN?! To most people, the answer to that question would be “No”. However, it’s fun for me because I get excited about sharing new images of new couples on the blog!! Darrell and Meredith will be getting married this spring… Like, REALLY soon! So you’ll have a change to see them again in a few weeks.

Some

days it can be 50 degrees and it feels like 65! Other days, it can be 50 degrees and feel like 30!! Well, last Wednesday it was in the 50′s but it was FREEZING! The sun was shining but the wind was roaring through DC during my eshoot with Mike and Kelly! They were such great sports about the temperature and the never ending wind that kept blowing hair in their faces. That’s how you know you are working with GREAT couples. If they can make it work in less than ideal conditions, then I have struck gold in the client department! I had been waiting to meet Mike and Kelly for a while now. They are getting married this coming fall

The

winter months for a photographer can be dreadful at times. It’s cold, and dark and for people like me who love COLOR, it can seem somewhat lifeless. I love winter but when it comes to photography, it’s not my favorite season. Well, I’m happy to announce that those days are over for 2013! Sure, it’s still chilly and the temperature for VA has not been normal for late March however, the grass is beginning to turn green and slowly but surely, spring is starting to show through!! I noticed this last weekend while I was shooting Mike and Kristin’s eshoot on the Southside of Richmond. This was my first 2013
