so many photogenic nooks and crannies! I’ve shot at the Tredegar so many times but every time is still so different!! I’m LOVING the light TJ, Sara and I found during their shoot last week! Beautiful!! It was an amazing 80 degrees and we couldn’t have asked for a better atmosphere for shooting. Besides a few dogs running around and a loud train that passed through, we had the area to ourselves! In between their portraits we chatted about their story and their wedding plans. I’ve been

a little under the weather the past 4 or 5 days but I’ve been trying to hide it pretty well. There’s nothing that can ruin the mood of a wedding or an engagement shoot than a sniffling photographer! So I’ve been downing some Airborne, sleeping in an extra 30 minutes or so and I’ve almost finished off a whole bottle of Simply Orange Mango! (That stuff is good!).  Gratefully, I’m starting to feel better! Beau and Jordan had to listen to me clear my throat and sound like a man during their engagement session but they were kind enough to say “Oh, you don’t sound bad!”… But I did.  They are just as sweet

One of the

greatest things about this industry is the relationships that I have been able to form over the last several years. Through workshops, conferences and meetups, I have been able to form friendships with some amazing people who have incredible stories. One of these people would be Callie. Callie took a risk and attended my first ever larger scale workshop back in 2010. The SUGAR SHOOT took place in Richmond and we shot in a candy store! It was definitely different from my workshops now and I’m so thankful for the ladies that came out! Callie was one of those ladies!! When I received her email I was thrilled!

They work

and they work A LOT. These two spent a few minutes sharing how BUSY their work schedules are and I found it amazing that we actually had an evening where the 3 of us were able to meet up! Jason and Shannon’s wedding is right around the corner and so we wanted to get their engagement shoot underway as soon as possible! They met at their apartment complex on Monument Avenue years ago and so we began their session there. It’s so Richmond-y (if thats a word) and I loved it! For those of you that don’t live in RVA, it’s important to know that Richmonders take great pride in their historic city and Monument Ave is one of the prettiest

Gosh, I don’t

even know where to begin with these two! Let’s start with Melissa… or Moe. Our friendship started on the floor of my freshman dorm at our very first Hall Meeting in York River East.  This bubbly girl sat beside me and said “is that a promise ring?! I have one of those!!!” and we’ve been friends ever since. Melissa and I stayed friends through our college years and even though we didn’t hangout all the time, it was NEVER awkward to be together. I just loved this girl! She was fun and spunky and genuinely just a sweet person to have in my life! Fast forward to senior year. I’ve known Joe from a distance but know we’re both on V-Team for Intervarsity…
