Meet Alia

You know those families that are just jam packed with talent? Well, the Prasad family is one of those families. I remember when we first started coming to Gayton (Our church) and I couldn't believe how much Kristin (Alia's mom) was in charge of! Kristin is on full time staff at GBC and she keeps that place rolling! Not only was I impressed with Kristin, her children are quite impressive as well. Alia is incredible on the violin!! Despite her busy school schedule and soccer schedule, she makes time to play at church constantly! And not only is she musically talented, she's brilliant!! Alia has a scholarship to Vanderbilt

and she’ll be starting her freshman year before we know it!! I’m sure Alia is going to read this post and think to herself, ”Ok Katelyn, you can stop now”. haha I brag about her because I really, truly think she’s awesome. She has such a sweet demeanor and it was such a honor to capture her portraits as she finishes up her senior year of high school! It’s going to be weird not having her around next year!! I’m going to miss her and her violin but I know that she’s 100% ready for the next phase of life! Alia I wish you the VERY BEST with your freshman year! You’re going to do amazing things girl!!

Meet Julia

As I went through these images and was thinking about what I wanted to write about Julia, a ton of memories came back to be from the past two and half years! Julia has always been the sweet, soft spoken one of out of her group of friends at church. The last several years I've had the chance to get to know her and I have to say that I have honestly NEVER seen a negative side of Julia. I'm serious!! Even on mission trips and retreats when everyone is lacking in sleep and energy... I've ever experienced a "cranky" Julia. Julia has such a peaceful, loving personality

that makes everyone around her feel welcome and after seeing her friendships grow over the last few years, I have come to realize that Julia is the type of friend that everyone would love to have. She’s patient, loving and she cares so deeply for her friends. I love that about her. :) I also love that she’s artsy and totally her own person!! Taking her senior portraits last week was a piece of cake because not only is she a beautiful person on the inside, she’s GORGEOUS on the outside!! During our time together we experienced some crazy things… like almost falling in the James River with my camera bag and sliding down rocks. It was definitely an adventurous senior session but so worth the effort! I can’t wait for you to see some of my favorites!! Enjoy!!

Meet Bailey

Bailey is one of those girls that you meet and you instantly feel like you know her. I'm not really sure how to explain it but she just makes you feel welcome!! It could be her ability to talk to anyone about anything... or it could also be that she just loves everyone!! Bailey is just one of those people you enjoy being around! I've absolutely LOVED getting to know this girl the last few years. She's a breath of fresh air and I just adore her! It's hard believe she's graduating already when I feel like I was JUST introduced to her at youth group!! Time is flying by and while I know Bailey is

excited to be done with high school, I sure am going to miss seeing her around for small group and youth group! She’s not going far though! Bailey is staying in Richmond for college and my fingers are crossed that I’ll get to see her every now and then!! It was so much fun taking these senior portraits for her! We walked around Shockhoe Bottom with Michael and Bokeh one evening last week and this is what we got!! Enjoy my favorites!!

John + Katie | Married

Well the whole "Blogging Early" thing that I teach at my workshops.... I have really failed at that lately! Maybe it's the wedding season, maybe it's the packing and moving and closing on a new house... or maybe I just need to get my act together!! :) Whatever the reason, I'm going to try to get these posts up early this week! I think I'm driving Katie crazy with all of her sneak peeks on facebook!! Finally, here's the post!! I've known Katie for the past two years and not only is she a sweet friend, she's also a fabulous photographer!! She contacted me about doing a anniversary portrait session for her and John's 2nd

wedding anniversary and while normally I have to say no, I looked at the calendar and I happened to have one open evening and so I said yes! Now, those that have asked for portrait sessions in the past are probably glaring at me through the computer screen. After discussing this with Michael, we’ve decided that we would be able to take on a few portrait sessions for COUPLES only this year if the shoots took place in or around Richmond. We can’t promise that our schedules are going to be super free but the truth is, we love couples. I’m definitely not a family photographer or a newborn photographer but we’re all about marriages and giving couples an experience and images that they will cherish forever. So whew! Glad that’s out there!

So John and Katie couldn’t be more attractive. I knew this was going to be super fun and EASY since she’s a photog and already knows the ropes! Well, not only was it FUN, it was super crafty and unique to them! We started at a donut shop in Carytown because Katie is slightly obsessed with donuts! Then, we headed around town for some festive anniversary pics with her hand crafted pinata! Seriously, she’s so good at this stuff!! We had so much fun and I couldn’t be more excited to share these images with you! Katie and John, happy 2 years!!! yay!! Enjoy!

Meet Tori

There are days when I wish I could offer portraits again! I only offer portraits to friends and family because our time is so dominated by our weddings. We LOVE our wedding clients and that is definitely where our heart is but I do LOVE shooting senior portraits for our kids from church! It's just FUN! I love my time with them and it's especially fun to photograph the girls! I mean really, what teenage girl doesn't love modeling for 2 hours?! Tori and her mom walked the campus of St. Catherines School last week and had a blast!

We spent the first part of the session wishing away the rain and clouds and we lucked out! The rain held off and Tori now has some bright, colorful senior portraits! She’s such a sweetheart and I’m so thankful for the time I’ve had with her this year. I’m hoping that we have even more small group time together this summer before she slips away to college. I still can’t believe it’s almost time for her to leave!! When Michael and I first moved to Richmond, she seemed so young!! And now she’s Radford bound! :) We’re going to miss her! Enjoy some of her senior portraits and let me just say…. Tori found an amazing teal wall in Carytown that I WILL be using again one day! It’s just gorgeous! Wait til you see it!
