The night

Michael and I met the youth at our church for the first time, it was a little overwhelming. SO many teenagers and so many names to remember.  I tend to be pretty bad with names but I will remember RANDOM things about everyone that I meet. When it came to Hannah, I remembered her hair.  We had a conversation the first time we met about how she straightened her hair and that just stuck with me for some reason! The second time I saw her… I immediately thought “Oh, she’s the one that straightened her hair” and I immediately remembered our whole conversation. So Hannah started out as the “girl with straight hair”

Lets talk

about this weather! … It’s AWESOME!! Perfect for walking the dog, perfect for outdoor malls and WONDERFUL for shooting any type of session. I have bridal portraits today and I’m so thankful that it’s an amazing 72 degrees! I shot Nathan’s senior portraits on Monday afternoon and it was in the 70′s. I didn’t even break a sweat! I vote that this weather can stay year round! We walked around the Nayda’s beautiful home and lawn for his senior pictures and I jokingly mentioned that they should rent out their yard for portraits! It was a perfect place to shoot and so convenient.

Ever since

I really got to know Amber I’ve been hearing “Oh, you’re doing my senior pics!”. ha! She’s been talking about this for a WHILE and we FINALLY got them done this past week! Amber is entering her senior year and I can’t believe how fast these two+ years have flown by. One minute I’m meeting sophomores in highschool and the next minute they’re graduating!! It’s crazy!! So Amber know exactly what she wanted for her portraits. She wanted to shoot them on her family’s farm in Goochland. It’s a beautiful location with rustic barns, old tractors, barking hunting dogs and a lot of golden light that was so perfect for her portraits!!

We’ve been in

Richmond over two years…. which means we’ve known some of our youth group kids for over two years. So normally, I would be able to know exactly what to expect from the ones we know best. Well, that’s not true with Brendan. I honestly had no clue what to expect from him during his senior portraits…. and as you look through his pictures, you’ll know what I mean by that!! Brendan and Michael were close from the very beginning and I can’t believe this young, goofy sophomore kid that we met two years ago has grown up and is heading to college in a year! Time is flying by!!

I could shoot more of these sessions because they’re just so much fun… but unfortunately, I have to save my few extra evenings for just our friends and family’s shoots! Last Monday, it was Brendan and Rachel’s turn! We’ve known these two for a while and so when they asked about having their senior portraits done, we decided to do them on the same day and them have a double date afterwards! Our plan worked out and Michael was able to join us for the shoot and dinner afterwards! So this is Rachel’s post (Brendan’s is coming soon… get ready for that one:) and I just have to say
