I wondered the same thing too when I received an email from “Catwalk For Kids“.  I had never heard of this non-profit organization before.  I was contacted by them to see if I would shoot their event that was taking place in Richmond during fashion week. I agreed… with no clue as to what I was getting myself into. Meet the

Morris family!! When I was at CNU I had the privilege to meet the amazing Nate Morris and eventually become his neighbor! Nate is one of the most hard working and driven people I know. He gets ideas, becomes passionate about them and makes it happen.  He’s incredible.  You should probably bookmark this post and save it so in the future, when Nate Morris is president, you can say “I saw him on the blog!!!!!!”. If he’s not the president of United States… he’ll at least be the president of SOMETHING! He’s a natural leader and I’m so honored to call him my friend!

When we

did Beth and Eric’s maternity session, I loved the letters she brought to spell out Julian’s name… however, his name was a SECRET and so I had to keep these few pics hidden from view until Julian made his grand entrance into the world a few weeks ago! “Julian” is a family name and I love it! So unique and different. I’m all for names that are not on the top 2011 baby name lists.  Michael and I just are thinking about getting a puppy and I’m already thinking about unique DOG names!! Anyway…little Julian decided that he was ready to enter the world a couple weeks early and surprised everyone!

Meet Little

Gene…. I usually preface newborn posts with something like “I don’t normally do these” or “I’m more comfortable with weddings” because that’s the truth. Weddings are what I LOVE the most and I feel most comfortable when I’m shooting weddings.  This is so ironic because weddings are high-stress shooting situations and newborn sessions are  relaxed and a more slower pace. The house is warm, the baby is sleeping, the baby wakes up, the baby eats, the baby falls back asleep…. it’s a long process and every time I shoot a newborn session, I learn something new and I love that! …. He has been

making movies since he was little.  I remember getting together with Michael’s family for Thanksgiving and hearing about Christopher’s next movie and thinking “What?! This kid is making movies?!”.  Chris is Michael’s cousin and is currently attending USC.  He’s super talented not only in film making but he is also an incredible painter as well! When he asked about getting some head shots done I knew this was going to be easy. He’s got “the look”… “the look” that I will never be able to master… the “serious face”.  So in about 30 mins we shoot about 650 images and we probably could have used just about all of them!
