A Day at the Spa

For 2012 KJ Brides
spa day

I talk

so much about my brides being my friends and that’s really not a lot of fluff… its’ the truth. I’m so thankful that in this stage of my business, I attract brides that are very similar to me. We get along and we have fun together…. so naturally…I wanted to see them again! Their weddings are long gone and while a few still have to approve their album design, for the most part, our journey together is over. It’s actually kind of sad when you put it that way. :( I decided last year that I wanted to see my 2011 brides again and spoil them so we hosted a SPA DAY at the Red Door Spa here in Richmond.

The New House

The new

house is really just a pile of dirt right now.  Actually, it’s not even a pile yet… it’s just a lot of land.  That’s it. We haven’t broken ground and yet every time we are in the car, I tell Michael “Lets go see the house!”.  What?! Katelyn, there is no HOUSE yet. What I mean by that is…. lets go drive to the neighborhood….just for fun! …. And we do…. and it’s fun. It’s fun because we’re just so excited for this new phase of life!!  Never EVER would I have dreamed of building a house at 25 but with the market being like it is… it’s a great time and we’re so blessed to have this dream become a reality!!

A Big Change

Becoming a Husband/Wife Team

This post

is such a strange and exciting post to write. It’s exciting because there are HUGE changes happening for KJP… but it’s also strange because 3 years ago, I never saw this coming….ever.  Michael worked full time at CNU while I was finishing my senior year and running the business. We were engaged and Michael was looking for a job in youth ministry because he loves ministry and he loves working with teenagers. We were connected with Gayton Baptist Church and we immediately fell in LOVE with the staff, the kids, the location, the people, etc. We love this place and we are so lucky to have found a church home so quickly!!

The Snapshot

January 2013

Everyone

is blogging about their 2013 goals…. welp…I’m just taking it one month at a time. One of my goals is to sit down with Michael and actually figure out my GOALS!! AS soon as I think about that stuff I immediately get overwhelmed. Next year is going to hold so many new adventures for the Alsop household. I’ll share about some of that later this week (And no, I’m not pregnant!). It seems like 25 is the magic age when everyone starts to ask and wonder when the babies are coming… welp… not any time soon!! Definitely not ready for that step!! However, we are so excited for this new year and all that it will hold for us as a couple and as a business.

Demolition Day

At the Alsop's!

I know

this is a sorry excuse for a blog post… but today is Demolition Day and I’m busy vacuuming up 10 years of dust and dirt that have been living underneath the carpet in our living room and hallway. G-ROSS. My family came down to help us prepare for our new hardwood floors that will be put in next week!! Daddy brought his truck to pick up the flooring and then one thing led to another and now the carpet is gone all together!!  We’ll be renting our cozy cape cod once our new house is built and new flooring is on our list of to-do’s!!!  So I’m off to help the family continue their hammering and vacuuming!! & you KNOW I’ll be showing some before & afters!!
