Coaching

COACHING-FEB-2012

It’s

Hard to believe that I’ve almost been offering coaching session for a full year!! Wow time flies! I remember thinking about this and wondering if anyone would be interested and I’m continually shocked that photographers from ALL OVER sign up to be a part of this. Coaching sessions are awesome because we get to talk about the photographer’s specific struggles and where they are in their businesses. I’ve had some photographers that have been in business for 17 years and some that haven’t even opened their doors yet!

The Workshop Experience

Behind the Scenes | Spring 2013
spring-2013-workshop

There

is something that I realized when I was preparing for the spring Workshop Experience that took place on Friday. I was refreshing my presentation and I realized that this was my 5th LARGE scale workshop in the last 2 years. There was a day when the simple thought of teaching someone else was so intimidating to me. There was also a day when photographing a wedding was something that made me lose sleep at night. I’ve realized that the BIG things that used to be so intimidating and scary to me have now become the new normal for me. And when the big things become normal, your standards become higher and your dreams get a little crazier.

I know

it’s cheesy, but I really do have “News” about the Newsletter! Things are changing this year… for the better! Last year, the Newsletter was just something that I was lucky to get done 3 times a year. This year, we’re changing it up! The KJP newsletter will be sent out bi-monthly for starters. If I get really into it, we’ll see about monthly send outs. The BEST news about the newsletter is this….. there will be “Quick Tips” shared in every edition. These are quick tips and tricks that aren’t on my blog and are only accessible through the newsletter. The goal of a newsletter is not to reiterate everything that I JUST blogged about…

Why Help?

The Hating vs. Helping Dilemma
help-vs-hate

Back when

I first started this business, there weren’t many of us around…. and when I say “us”, I’m referring to young, new, female photographers ready to take on the world. Nowadays, that isn’t the case. In the last 5 years, the photography industry has exploded… big time. In our friend group from college, there used to be two photographers… me and my great friend Jessica. Today, there are at LEAST 6 of us. In the last 4 years I have had over 6 of my brides become photographers and I have 2-3 new photographers signing up for coaching sessions every single month. People are referring to this profession as just the “thing to do”…..

A New Website!

& The Mini Rebrand Process

It was

time. The time had come once again for a rebrand. It wasn’t a MASSIVE rebrand… it really wasn’t an overhaul at all… it was more of an update. I didn’t really CHANGE my look and the feel of my brand, I just made it sleeker, more modern and more “grown up” if you will. There are VERY few brands that can keep their look the EXACT same forever. My brand wasn’t BAD, but I knew it could be better. The “damask” background of my blog has been a part of my brand for 4 years…. it was time to move on. So in August, when all of my photog friends were changing their looks and it seemed like EVERYONE was having a
