Autumn Color Palette Inspiration
color-inspiration

While it

may actually be a little bit LATE for some fall wedding inspiration, I know there are some brides out there that are STILL trying to figure out accent colors and palette details for their fall weddings. So here’s a little Wedding Wednesday color inspiration! I recently received Lowe’s awesome DIY booklet that they send out each season and it was FULL of beautiful colors! So I took some of those colors and designed a few “not so typical” wedding color palettes for today’s post! I LOVE a good color palette for a wedding and so often brides are afraid to  try something

The "Untouched" Shots
reception-details

Welp! Here’s

another wedding wednesday with some advice about WHY shooting the reception UNTOUCHED is REALLY important from a photography standpoint. Now, before you read on, let me explain what I mean by “Untouched”.  When I say “I need to shoot the reception Untouched”, I mean I want to shoot a wide shot of the entire room before aunt Louise claims her seat extra early and throws her shawl down on the chair and her clutch on her place setting. Professional Wedding Makeup

It’s really

just a matter of preference. Do you LIKE makeup and are you COMFORTABLE doing it on your own? For me, I knew I probably needed some help. Can you imagine me, being the basket case that I was on my wedding day, trying to apply FALSIES?! YIKES! I would have arrived to my ceremony with one eye superglued shut! I was WAY too busy and nervous to apply my own makeup and fake eye lashes! I’m really thankful that I had some help! However, for some girls, they LOVE applying their own makeup and they would rather take matters into their own hands on wedding days!

Flower Power

You’re probably

thinking “Katelyn you say EVERYTHING is important on a wedding day!” and I can see how you would think that. I JUST blogged about reception lighting and how it’s so great to have and I’ve blogged about details and the importance of themes… etc, etc. The thing is, I know that not EVERYONE has a budget to pull everything off. When I got married I didn’t have a budget that could pull everything off either! So this post is about ONE part of the wedding day that can change the LOOK of the overall wedding day dramatically! This post is about the bridal bouquet. I’m not talking about the bridesmaid’s florals or even the centerpieces…

Professional Lighting Before & Afters
professional-lighting

I had heard

some people mention “professional lighting” before my wedding but I never paid any attention to what it was. It didn’t seem like a necessity at the time.  And then as I continued looking at magazines and reception images, the shots that caught my eye were so COLORFUL and evenly lit and VIBRANT.  I slowly began to realize that the “look” I loved involved something more than just overhead lighting. I think so often this is a part of the wedding planning process that is overlooked because it doesn’t seem necessary. However, there aren’t many things that can make THIS much of an impact on the overall “look” of an event.  If you’re planning a
