Tips for creating a theme through details
details-wedding-gold

I talk a lot

about themes on a wedding day. We had a theme for our wedding… “Vintage Peacock”!  I STILL find random feathers around our house!!  Some brides have their theme nailed down and planned out perfectly…. and some brides are like “Hey, I’m getting married and I could care less about a theme!”. No matter what type of bride I’m working with, I have to be the one that makes the wedding day cohesive! It’s really crazy to think about but the photographer determines the way the wedding day will be remembered. AH! No pressure right?!!  The way we shoot determines the look and feel of the album and the blog post… and those are two main ways

Valentine's Day Inspiration

Walmart

is not my favorite store in the world…. and I’m sure a lot of you feel the same way. I’m more of a Target girl! However, every now and then I get an idea and Walmart just happens to be the place where these ideas come to life! I wanted to make a Valentines display that was BUDGET FRIENDLY and somewhat easy to make. So I thought about decorating with TISSUE PAPER. Tissue paper is cheap and as I walked into Walmart, the “Valentine’s Day” section caught my eye. I ended up leaving with 8 packages of tissue paper and I spent a total of $7.00 on this project! obviously I used a few things from home that I already owned… but when it comes to

Save the Dates

When one gets

engaged, the first thing to do is SCREAM and call everyone you love and scream some more! Then, after calling and notifying the close friends and family, you can make the “Relationship Status” change on Facebook. That part is ALMOST as exciting as the shiny new rock on your finger!! Then you start looking at the calendar and thinking of possible dates….. and then the next step is to choose a VENUE, book it…. and then book your photographer! (Well, that’s the order that my planning took place:).  After you have booked your photographer and have shot your engagement session… the time has come for SAVE THE DATES.

Finding "The Dress"
wedding-dress-styles

We are going

through a bit of a life change at the moment. I don’t do well with crying puppies in crates. Michael told me to put Bokeh in his crate and go up to my office and just blast the music so I can’t hear him sobbing. ugh. It’s a miserable feeling but I HAVE to get some things done, even though it’s my off season! There are some things that I could accomplish now and they would REALLY save me some time for this upcoming 2012 wedding season. The list is long but I’m working hard at it!!  Normally, on Wednesdays when I feel rushed or I have too much to do, I blog about something interesting… but EASY.

Fruity Pebbles, Popcorn, glow sticks, What's Next?!
wedding-exits

There are

so many options when it comes to EXITS! It used to be that “Birdseed” was what you threw at EVERY wedding for the exit. I’m not hating on Birdseed exits because we had a birdseed exit at OUR wedding! (I will warn you thought… that’s a nasty mess to clean up later… my dress and hair were COVERED with seed!!!).  But Birdseed went along with our “Peacock, birdcage, vintage” theme so we had to use it! These days, there are so many more options out there! I’ve heard of people throwing lavendar, live butterflies, etc! It’s really a fun part of the day to make unique! Most people opt for sparklers and
