Best Bouquets of 2011
best-bouquets-from-2011

Many don’t

realize this… but the bridal bouquet has a super power. Yes, it does. I’m not exaggerating or over analyzing…the bouquets on a wedding day have SUCH a huge effect on the images!! If you look at the majority of my wedding blog posts, the POP of color normally comes from the bouquets! They add so much! The florals of the wedding day have the ability to tie EVERYTHING together. From the boutonnieres to the centerpieces at the reception… the bouquets can incorporate it all! When brides emails me in a panic about the floral costs and they say they just want to do fake silk flowers instead…

A Modern Coca-cola Christmas Inspiration

Sometimes

I get a little ahead of myself. I woke up this morning with a list of christmas things to get done and then there was a “business” to-do list as well. One of those “Business” to-do’s was to blog Wedding Wednesday. But I wanted it to be a GOOD one. Well, it takes some work to make a GOOD Wedding Wednesday and you can’t do it halfway. So, what was once supposed to be a simple post, has turned into a entire styled shoot in my kitchen…. complete with a lighting setup and fresh flowers. I know, this is ridiculous. However, I enjoy this stuff.

Everyone

needs a hobby. My hobby used to be photography. In college, my favorite thing to do in my free time was hangout with people, take pictures and then post them to facebook. I literally have hundreds of personal albums on my facebook account! But after Photography became my career….. it started to feel less and less like a hobby. I have to be really careful that I shoot for ME sometimes and not JUST during sessions and weddings. After doing this for three years, I’ve realized that there are other creative outlets in my life that give me a break from photography.  I love to sing Adele and play the piano (by ear, I have no idea how to read music… I wish I did!).

A Before & After & Why I Love my New Fireplace

As soon as…

we moved in I knew I wanted to do this. It was one of those projects that really wasn’t NECESSARY… but OHHH if we could make it happen, it would transform the living room! When Michael and I got married, we bought a little cape cod in the west end of Richmond and we adore it. When I picture a “first home” type of house… this is exactly what comes to mind. No closet space, hitting shoulders when we’re both trying to brush our teeth in our tiny little bathroom, and a cozy little living room. We love it. It’s so perfect for us right now and despite the fact that we’ve been running out of storage space since before we moved in,

Easiest Fall Place Setting & My Fear of the Kitchen

If only

I could get as motivated to COOK as I do when I’m decorating. I need to find a way to channel that excitement towards the kitchen. My family is at home working on preparing food and I’m posting a Wedding Wednesday post about PLACE SETTING ideas and I couldn’t be more content. If only I had the desire to make casseroles and make a mess in the kitchen and try a ton a new recipes. Ugh. It just doesn’t do anything for me. I like the “pretty stuff”…. the “eye candy” if you will. The food is GREAT, don’t get me  wrong. However, the only reason I like to get involved with Thanksgiving food preparation is to set up the table.
