Bridal Parties Love Shadows

Wedding Wednesday ~ June 1, 2011

I realize

there is SO much to think about when you’re planning a wedding. Cake, colors, favors, vendors, invites… the list is HUGE! I retweeted someone yesterday who mentioned that there is an average of 43 businesses used to make one wedding happen. WOW. That’s incredible! So much goes into planning a celebration like this and while little details can be overwhelming, it’s worth it to talk over locations, timelines and portrait details with your photographer before hand.  Most of my clients this year are opting for a First Look and I am THRILLED.  First Looks reduce stress, allow time for TONS of portraits and relax nerves like you wouldn’t believe!

If you’re a bride

like me, I had big dreams and huge ideas but no way of knowing how to make those ideas come to life. If I wanted gorgeous arrangements as my centerpieces, where do I order vintage birdcages in bulk? And where can I find large quantities of olive green moss…. not FOREST GREEN… Olive green. (I was very specific) I knew what I wanted in my head but it was really hard to find all the right pieces to make it happen. Finding local vendors that have creative vision and a love for trying something new is the BEST way to make awesome ideas happen!

A Little Goes a Long Way | Bridal Party Tables

Wedding Wednesday ~ May 18, 2011

It doesn’t take

much to make a pretty image. One vase with one peony would make me happy and keep me busy for a while! Those flowers are so photogenic! So often brides get so overwhelmed with having a MILLION DETAILS! I understand this. I was one of those brides! I wanted details everywhere and they WERE EVERYWHERE. I went a little overboard. However, not every wedding has to have over the top decor on every table. Simple is good! In this Wedding Wednesday post I’m going to show you just how many detail shots can be taken from just a simple bridal party table display. This was just ONE piece of Buddy and Jill’s beautiful farm wedding a few weekes ago.

Changing it Up! | The Veil

Wedding Wednesday ~ May 11, 2011

This is a dilemma

that isn’t talked about very much but every bride has to make the “veil” decision! It’s a BIG deal and can really determine a bride’s overall “Look”! The fun part is that a bride can change it up if she wants! I wore two different veils on my wedding day and I LOVED it. I had a vintage (handmade) birdcage veil during our First Look and portraits.  Then we went to the church and I put on my longer veil to walk down the aisle. Because I switched veils I had two different “looks” and what bride doesn’t want to have two “looks”…. it’s like playing dress up!…. Only it’s for real!!! I’ve shot several weddings where the bride either changes from

The "R" Word

Wedding Wednesday ~ May 4, 2011

This Wednesday

I’m editing…. ALL DAY LONG. And I’m really into it. I haven’t eaten lunch, I haven’t left my office (except to get a DMD) and I FORGOT to BLOG!! What?! Yea…. that really happened. I’m normally up and blogging first thing in the morning… or at least working on something that is blog related. Today I guess I’m such a little overly focused on getting this wedding DONE. However, it is Wedding Wednesday and I don’t want to leave you hanging…. so here is a little post about the “R” word….. RAIN.  No one… and I mean NO ONE wants to even mention the “R” word on their wedding day!
