Kevin + Erika

A Downtown Philadelphia Wedding

I seriously

feel like I have known these two for YEARS. Why? Because this journey started long before their wedding day! It begin when Kevin sent me a very well articulated email about how he was planning to propose to his girlfriend Erika but he needed my help! Yikes!! These types of things make me so excited and SO nervous! Kevin surprised Erika with a coaching session in April of last year. He drove her down and during her headshots, he proposed!! So this wedding was really special for us because we have literally been there for EVERY part of the process!! From the proposal during the coaching session to their early morning engagement session in State College, PA, we’ve shot it all! We even got to meet their little fur baby, Lilee! Saturday we had the honor of meeting the rest of their family, friends and everyone who loves them the most!

Chris + Sarah

A Big Spring Farm Wedding | Lexington VA

This

place will forever hold a special place in my heart. Not just because some of our best friends live on this gorgeous property, but because my sister got married here! Big Spring Farm has become a household name within the course of this past year and we were SO excited to shoot ANOTHER wedding there this past weekend! Chris and Sarah are friends of ours from back home. Sarah interned with our church’s youth group when Michael was on staff at our church and so we became very close during the summer of 2011! We met up for lunch and coffee every now and then and I heard about school and friends and eventually… this boy named Chris. Sarah met up with me one afternoon and shared that she was dating this guy and something was so different about him. Fast forward a few months and she told me that he may just be THE ONE!! Well, she was right!! The more I heard about Chris and his love for her, the more I loved their relationship.

Travis + Shannon

A Lavender Inspired Backyard Wedding

The

officiant knew them well. She and her husband are dear friends of Travis and Shannon’s and so their ceremony was more personal than most. After Shannon walked down the aisle, the pastors shared that these two had waited and dreamed of this day for SO so long. They were high school sweethearts and they were beating the odds. Most high school sweethearts don’t make it this far and they did!! Travis and Shannon started dating in high school and then did long distance throughout college. After YEARS of saying goodnight and leaving each other at the end of evening, the were finally getting married and those days of saying goodnight are over!!! Michael and I remember those days well. It was such a welcomed change to never say goodbye at the end of the evening and to officially live together!! Travis and Shannon have officially started their new life together and it’s exciting!

Steven + Jennifer

A Sweet DIY Richmond Wedding

Backyard

weddings are unlike any type of wedding. There is something so relaxed and welcoming about them. I knew as soon as I read Jen’s first email about what they were envisioning for their big day that this wedding was going to be a ton of fun! Steven and Jen wanted to get married at home… where they hang out with friends and family… where they feel most like themselves and where they want to spend the rest of their life. It seemed only fitting that they would start their new life together in a place that they hold so dear to their hearts. The only thing that was missing were the pups!! We missed their fur babies but with all of the hard work that a DIY wedding entails, it was probably smart to leave the puppies with the sitters. These two worked so hard pulling this day together. They did everything themselves and since our own wedding was in my parent’s backyard, I know the feeling!

Dan + Kathleen

An Army Navy Country Club Wedding

As I

was talking to Dan and Kathleen’s planner while shooting their gorgeous reception details, she mentioned that she liked to call the style of this wedding “Kate Spade meets Charleston” and I couldn’t agree more. This gorgeous day had Kathleen’s style written all over it and it was simply stunning. There wasn’t a detail left undone. As I was shooting all of Kathleen’s Kate Spade inspired bridal details, I knew that this was going to be one beautiful wedding day! And it was! Dan and Kathleen were married at the historic Dahlgren Chapel on the campus of Georgetown University. This quaint little church is situated right in the heart of campus. As we arrived to the ceremony, the bag piper was already playing and a few guests were starting to arrive. Anytime there is a bag pipe player, the ceremony seems extra epic to me!
