A Belmont Estate Wedding | Maryland Wedding Photographer

This

day has been 10 years in the making!! I loved seeing Throwback Thursday pictures of these two pop up here and there before their big day! Justin and Brooke have been together for so long and their wedding day was anticipated by so many!! As I emailed back and worth with Brooke before the wedding, I could just tell how excited she was. Details, planning, crafting… she did it all! So much time and energy went into making this past Saturday the most perfect event. And it was just that. From the weather to the details to the puppies… everything was beyond gorgeous. Brooke, with the help of her mom and sister, incorporated so many meaningful details into the day. I don’t think there were many details that didn’t represent something special to the couple and their families. As I walked up to Brooke’s parent’s home at the beginning of the day, I passed Brooke’s dad loading the final touches to the trailer full of vintage furniture.

A Historic Downtown Winston Salem Wedding

This

day has been in the works for YEARS. I can’t count how many times I heard “It’s finally here!!!” said on Ryan and Megan’s wedding day! All of their friends and family knew just how important this milestone was for the two of them. After years and years of dating, they were finally going to be husband and wife!! Michael and I traveled down to Winston Salem, NC late Friday night to be ready for Ryan and Megan’s big day on Saturday. Old Town Winston Salem is now one of my new favorite NC shooting locations! It’s seriously like a clone of Williamsburg!! Historic homes, old fences and barns… what more could a photographer want?! Oh! And this awesome historic area was only a two minute walk from the reception venue!! I could have photographed them for hours!!

A Science Museum of Virginia Wedding

This

wedding was such an amazing milestone for the Rice family. The 5th and final sibling was marrying the love of her life!! I have known the Rice family for years. Ever since I shared a house in college with Emily, I have loved getting to know the Rice family! Besides my parents, I don’t think I’ve ever seen daughters so in love with their dad and a family dynamic that is so close. I think that’s why I just adore them. Their love for one another reminds me so much of our own family… except their numbers are bigger! The Rice siblings consist of 4 sisters and 1 brother and now they are all married with 9 grandkids and two more on the way!!! Crazy right?! What a blessed family! I remember hearing about Emily’s older sister getting married while we were in college and how big of a deal that was! Emily and I would talk about our weddings and how amazing it would be to have husbands and enter that new season of life.

Hutch + Kerri

A King Family Vineyard Wedding | Charlottesville, VA

Michael

and I have come to realize that we love Charlottesville!! Why?! Because one day we want to retire on top of a rolling hill that overlooks the blue ridge mountains! We love the rolling hills and the beautiful historic estates and vineyards. It’s the perfect place to start a brand new season of your life. Hutch and Kerri said their vows on the gorgeous grounds of King Family Vineyard with horses and mountains as their backdrop. It was a beautiful 80 degrees and their day couldn’t have gone any smoother! I’m biased because the girls were in light teal dresses but everything was stunning and Kerri picked the perfect palette for a mid June wedding! As I entered the bridal suite, I was greeted by not one but TWO KJ Brides!

Harrison + Rachel

A Backyard Farm Wedding | Snow Hill, MD

She came

home with a college roommate for the weekend… and like most weekend roadtrips in college, I’m sure she was just expecting to have a good time. I highly doubt that Rachel ever thought that a road trip to the eastern shore is where she would meet her future husband. Harrison and Rachel actually MET on Harrison’s grandfather’s farm in Snow Hill, MD. Several years later, they celebrated their wedding on the same property. How special is that?! What a dream!! From the old barns to the country roads without lines on the sides, I felt like I was back at home. Michael and I grew up in a very rural area and so country settings for weddings have a soft place in our hearts.
