Just when

I thought the fall colors couldn’t get ANY prettier… I drove into Leesburg. Historic downtown Leesburg is adorable on its’ own but add in tons of orange, red and yellow trees and BAAM! It becomes the most ideal wedding portrait location! Michael shot this wedding with me and I just kept repeating over and over to him “This is PERFECT!”… and it was. Not only were the trees perfect, Derek and Amy’s day was perfect as well. Holly Chapple blew us AWAY with gorgeous florals that coordinated so wonderfully with the portrait locations we ended up shooting in and I was THRILLED! I had already lost my voice from shooting a wedding the day before but I was still squealing when we were shooting

The next

two weeks are PRIME time for fall colors. The trees are BRIGHT and the light is soft. It’s amazing. As Jill and I prepared for the wedding day to begin, we talked about portrait locations and the opportunities were endless. Bright trees, water, glowy light… it was just an overall beautiful day! Beau and Jourdan were married on Friday at the Stonewall Golf Club in Gainesville, VA. The patio where the ceremony took place overlooks the course and a lake….it’s a perfect setting for a small, intimate wedding. As guests arrived and the music started playing, the bride and her girls prepped inside the clubhouse. Now this bridal party wasn’t just any bridal party,

It’s mid October!

Can you believe it?! I’m just trying to wrap my mind around the fact that I’m only 5 weddings away from the end of my busy wedding season! How did that happen?! I feel like it was just April and I was just getting started! Jameson and Lauren’s wedding day has seemed SO far off for such a long time, it was almost surreal to be shooting it!! Ever since their engagement session, I have been thinking about this wedding and all that Lauren was planning. She shared some ideas with me and I knew it was going to be beautiful but I had NO idea how AWESOME their theme would be!! Jameson and Lauren LOVE the water.

I feel like

I should pinch myself! Looking back over the last two years, my blog has been full of our friend’s weddings!! First of all, it’s amazing to see all of these amazing couples starting their lives together and secondly, I’m just honored that I have been able to be a part of them!! It’s an awesome feeling to be able to serve my friends in this way and I’m so thankful I was able to be a part of Garrett and Rachel’s wedding day! This wedding day was so incredible to watch because I remember sitting on the couches at our campus bakery shop talking with Rachel about when this day would come. She was only a freshman and she had really only seen Garrett from a distance… but she liked him.

I looked at

my “production” chart where all of my 2012 weddings are listed and I couldn’t believe that 3/4th’s of them have been shot!! It seems like just yesterday I was driving back from Brian and Whitney’s engagement shoot in Williamsburg!! The days and weeks fly by when you’re busy! As I prepped for their big day, I was excited because I’ve already seen Whitney in her gorgeous gown since she did a bridal session and I know how photogenic she is!! It was going to be a GOOD day. I just knew it! Michael was able to accompany me for this wedding and it always makes it better to have a side kick…. especially when your side kick is your husband. :) It was a beautiful day from beginning to end.
