John + Lisa

  • A New York State Wedding |Destination Wedding Photographer

are so many similarities between me and Lisa. The more time I spent around her, the more I became aware of them. For example, she’s known in her family for being the one that has just a little bit of “clumsy” in her! That’s totally me!! I think there was one summer where I literally had 6 bike accidents in a row!! I learned this about Lisa when she almost took a tumble during the first look! While some brides would let that tarnish the moment… it made their moment even MORE amazing!! They’ll never forgot that!!! The thing about Lisa is that she’s embraces that aspect about herself and you just have to love it!! She is who she is!! She’s smart, joyful and so full of life! There is never a dull moment around this girl and I adore her for that. John loves this about her too! These two crack each other up constantly!

Ben + Carlyn

wedding season we have a spell where we don’t realize it, but we’re in need of a pick-me-up. We always become aware of how much we needed this pick-me-up after it happens and that makes it that much sweeter. So Michael and I have been on the go a lot recently and if i’m being honest, it can be hard. Living at Hampton Inn after Hampton Inn is not a glamorous as it may sound. (We do however get free internet and breakfast which is pretty fabulous in my book!) Sometimes when we’re in a season like this, we don’t realize it but we get to a place where we are being challenged and inspired. Ben and Caryln’s wedding was just that. It was totally fresh and something NEW to shoot! I’ve never had a chance to shoot a gown from Anthropologie’s bridal line until their wedding day and just in case the gown wasn’t fun enough, the apartment that they rented for the girls to get ready is was INCREDIBLE!

Michael + Brittany

  • A Wedding at The Maples | Upperville Wedding Photographer

walked out of our hotel to head to Michael and Brittany’s venue, The Maples, and my heart sank a little bit…. it was raining. It was sprinkling just enough to be annoying and by the time we arrived at the venue, everything was soaked. So I immediately started planning out all of our “covered” portrait options around the property. I have explained before that rain doesn’t hinder our work… if anything, it makes us MORE creative!! But we all know that no bride PREFERS rain on her big day! So for the sake of Brittany (and her pictures), I was praying for the skies to clear up! …. And guess what?! They did!!! The sun peaked through the clouds right as Brittany was stepping into her dress!! Even though I was a little disappointed when I thought that it was going to be a rainy day, deep down I knew that no matter what, rain or shine,
