JR + Sarah

A Brandermill Wedding | Richmond, VA

As I

was creating this blog post… this very LATE blog post (I’m running a little behind today:)…. I realized just how many friend’s weddings we have been a part of over the last few years. As I scrolled through the bridal party pictures and the reception shots, I saw couple after couple that we have celebrated alongside of on their wedding days. It’s such an honor. Being with JR and Sarah all day was so much fun and let me say this, memories were made!! We were ahead of schedule and so instead of driving the bride and groom to their ceremony location, we made a little pit stop… to Chickfila! I mean that’s what everyone does on their wedding day right?! We stopped to get some nuggets and a milkshake for JR….and I can honestly say that it was a first for us! Only with friends will we do something crazy like that!!

Evan + Patricia

A Grey and Yellow Mechanicsville Wedding

It’s

a very exciting feeling to walking into a bridal suite and find out that all of the bridesmaids follow your blog! I knew Patricia had followed my work for a while but I had no idea that her friends did as well and so that was such a fun surprise! I love wedding days like Evan and Patricia’s! They know me and my work and so they ROLLED through their portraits because they trusted me! Their bridal party rocked and rolled through my cheesy poses in record time and that meant that Evan and Patricia had an amazing amount of time for their portraits! Talk about an ideal wedding day!! It was beautiful. 70 degrees in November? You can’t ask for a better wedding day! The leaves in central Virginia hit their peak this past week and so the colors were just amazing for Evan and Patricia’s big day!

Jeff + Rosie

A Fort Belvoir Wedding

Jeff’s

brothers stepped up to the microphone at reception and explained that even though they were young when Rosie came into Jeff’s life, they remembered seeing him change… and it was a good change. Rosie and Jeff started dating in high school… and while some say high school is too early to seriously date someone, I think these two would disagree. There are only a few people in the world that are lucky enough to meet their soulmate in high school and Jeff and Rosie are one of those couples!! Their love has been growing for one another for so many years! They fell in love as teenagers, went to college together and then moved to NY for grad school and now, as of Sunday afternoon, they are officially Mr. and Mrs.!!! I loved watching them say their vows and exchange rings! After each part of the ceremony, they would smile and squeee one another’s hands because they knew they were closer and closer to being husband and wife!!

Mike + Kelly

A Baltimore Wedding at The Belvedere

We’re getting

closer and closer to the end of our wedding season and the more we shoot, the more we realize just how blessed we are with amazing clients! Mike and Kelly have been on our calendar for over a year now and their wedding day was all that I anticipated it to be. From the very beginning, it was full of excitement and a few tears. I think one of my favorite parts of the day was after the first look when we were shooting Mike and Kelly’s portraits and all of a sudden it hit Kelly that this was happening! It was her wedding day!! Tears of joy are the best! Michael and I absolutely loved spending the day with these two and their amazing friends and families. I don’t think downtown Baltimore has ever looked SO beautiful!! But of course I’m biased :) Mike and Kelly had an amazing wedding day. As Mike stood in front of 200 of his closest family and friends at the reception,

Nik + Lindy

A Washington DC Wedding | Sequoia
washington wedding pictures

I have

to admit that I was a little nervous about this one. The government is shut down and Lindy has always dreamed of having portraits with the national monuments! However, despite the barricades and massive amount of tourists, we made it happen!! The only way to shoot portraits around DC on a weekend with a gov’t shut down is to have an amazing group of friends in your bridal party AND you have to have a stretch hummer! :) Michael and I loved riding around DC with Nik and Lindy and their best friends. As we sat in the limo and headed to their ceremony, I was reminded of just how awesome this job is. We get to spend so much time with our couples on their wedding day and that’s such a privilege!! Nik and Lindy are just amazing. They have a story that not many have. Dating for 9 years is quite an accomplishment and so their wedding day was SUCH a celebration!!
