Jeff + Rosie

A Fort Belvoir Wedding

Jeff’s

brothers stepped up to the microphone at reception and explained that even though they were young when Rosie came into Jeff’s life, they remembered seeing him change… and it was a good change. Rosie and Jeff started dating in high school… and while some say high school is too early to seriously date someone, I think these two would disagree. There are only a few people in the world that are lucky enough to meet their soulmate in high school and Jeff and Rosie are one of those couples!! Their love has been growing for one another for so many years! They fell in love as teenagers, went to college together and then moved to NY for grad school and now, as of Sunday afternoon, they are officially Mr. and Mrs.!!! I loved watching them say their vows and exchange rings! After each part of the ceremony, they would smile and squeee one another’s hands because they knew they were closer and closer to being husband and wife!!

Mike + Kelly

A Baltimore Wedding at The Belvedere

We’re getting

closer and closer to the end of our wedding season and the more we shoot, the more we realize just how blessed we are with amazing clients! Mike and Kelly have been on our calendar for over a year now and their wedding day was all that I anticipated it to be. From the very beginning, it was full of excitement and a few tears. I think one of my favorite parts of the day was after the first look when we were shooting Mike and Kelly’s portraits and all of a sudden it hit Kelly that this was happening! It was her wedding day!! Tears of joy are the best! Michael and I absolutely loved spending the day with these two and their amazing friends and families. I don’t think downtown Baltimore has ever looked SO beautiful!! But of course I’m biased :) Mike and Kelly had an amazing wedding day. As Mike stood in front of 200 of his closest family and friends at the reception,

Nik + Lindy

A Washington DC Wedding | Sequoia
washington wedding pictures

I have

to admit that I was a little nervous about this one. The government is shut down and Lindy has always dreamed of having portraits with the national monuments! However, despite the barricades and massive amount of tourists, we made it happen!! The only way to shoot portraits around DC on a weekend with a gov’t shut down is to have an amazing group of friends in your bridal party AND you have to have a stretch hummer! :) Michael and I loved riding around DC with Nik and Lindy and their best friends. As we sat in the limo and headed to their ceremony, I was reminded of just how awesome this job is. We get to spend so much time with our couples on their wedding day and that’s such a privilege!! Nik and Lindy are just amazing. They have a story that not many have. Dating for 9 years is quite an accomplishment and so their wedding day was SUCH a celebration!!

Patrick + Anna Maria

A Stevenson Ridge Wedding | Fredericksburg, VA

They

say you can tell a lot about a person by their friends. The more couples I meet and have the privilege of working with, the more I find this to be true. Pat and Anna were surrounded by incredible friends on Saturday and they were from ALL over the country. Awesome right?! It says a lot to have SO many people care about you so deeply that they will stop life for a long weekend, fly to another state and then dance the night away with you because you mean the world to them! As we were leaving, one of Anna’s bridesmaids came up to us in tears and thanked us for capturing her best friend’s special day so well. Those are the kinds of conversations we cherish and that give us motivation to finish out this season with a bang!! I just LOVE awesome bridal parties and awesome couples for that matter!!

Matt + Tara

A Verulam Farm Wedding

There

some venues that just take your breath away… Tara and Matt’s venue was one of those venues. From the moment we arrived, I was (like usual) getting nervous about all that we could accomplish here! The house, the driveways lined with trees changing colors and spectacular views were just amazing and I knew it was going to be the start of a beautiful day!! Matt and Tara went to CNU and so we have mutual friends that attended their wedding. We love these weddings! It’s such a win-win for us! We get to photograph a couple that we know AND we get to hangout with friends from school!! We love our job!! Throughout the day, there was a constant theme that seemed to float around conversations and toasts about the new Mr. and Mrs. Hayes.
