An Irvine Estate Wedding | Lexington Wedding Photographer

We

drove through the winding road outside of Lexington, VA and we didn’t really know exactly where we were headed. Our iphone’s GPS was serving us well until we hit the dead spot in the mountains and for a few minutes there, we thought we were going to have to guess our way to the venue!! Luckily our signal returned and we made our way up to Irvine Estate! After a few minutes of a steep climb to tho top of the mountain, the trees opened up and it was such an amazing venue. The ceremony location overlooks what has to be one of the most beautiful views in Virginia and that’s where Noah and Kaylie tied the knot this past Saturday. After the big east coast storms blew through last week, a cold front came in and created PERFECT wedding conditions on Saturday! It was 76 and sunny!! As we started the day, Kaylie mentioned that there was this beautiful willow tree at the bottom of the mountain that she LOVED

A Main Street Station Wedding

We have

experienced a theme recently in our weddings. A lot of our couples have been together for a LONG time… and I’m not talking two years of dating… I’m talking 8 YEARS of dating! Michael and I dated for 8 years before we were married and so we understand just how big of a deal it is to FINALLY tie the knot and move on from “Fiance” to “HUSBAND”! It’s exciting and everyone that has known you for those 8 years is JUST as excited as you are because they have seen this day coming for LONG time! Tj and Sara dated for 8 years and finally made it official this past saturday at the beautiful Main Street Station in downtown Richmond. I overheard one of her bridesmaids saying “This is it! Today is YOUR wedding at Main Street Station!!”. It seemed as if Sara was about to experience the day she had been dreaming of since she was young! It was perfect.

There

is something SO rewarding about your clients really GETTING what you’re trying to do with your business. The goal of my business isn’t to sell a bunch of marked up stuff and then move on to the next wedding… the goal is to form relationships with my couples and give them an amazing experience that blesses them and leaves them with awesome images of their wedding day! To me, having awesome friendships with my clients is 100x more valuable than any package price. So when we saw Andrew and Katie at Huey and Natalie’s wedding and Andrew said that he couldn’t wait to see us in a week because we felt like old friends, I melted! That’s the goal! That’s why Michael and I absolutely love doing what we do! We have the privilege of meeting the most amazing couples and then we get to celebrate their wedding day with them AND be the ones capturing precious moments! It’s quite an honor!!!

Have

you ever met someone that is very similar to you and has the same style as you? You just “click” and feel like you’ve been friends for forever?! That’s how I feel around Jess. We started emailing forever ago and then met up for their engagement session last year and despite the heat, we had a wonderful time and I Ieft knowing that these two were a special couple. Jess is a graphic designer with a love for TEAL and all things chic and modern! Her save the dates were a tell tale sign that we were supposed to work together! They were amazing and guess what, they were TEAL! :) Her talent was displayed every where on their wedding day. Everything was so beautiful and so elegant! Bob and Jess have amazing friends and families that came in from all over to celebrate with them and they couldn’t have picked a better venue!

As we

left our house at 7am, I could feel the nerves coming on. I always get that way on weddings days. Photographers ask me if I still get nervous after shooting over 100 weddings and the answer is definitely YES…. especially when I’m shooting other photographer’s weddings! I remember squealing when I received my first email from Natalie! I was honored…. SO honored.. and I have been looking forward to this day ever since!! I knew it would be beautiful but I also knew that this day would be filled with SO much love and joy! Natalie and Huey have been together since high school and their love for one another has been growing for years. This day has been anticipated for so long and as the day went on, family and friends shared sweet stories and toasted to their love.
