Steven + Jennifer

  • A Sweet DIY Richmond Wedding

weddings are unlike any type of wedding. There is something so relaxed and welcoming about them. I knew as soon as I read Jen’s first email about what they were envisioning for their big day that this wedding was going to be a ton of fun! Steven and Jen wanted to get married at home… where they hang out with friends and family… where they feel most like themselves and where they want to spend the rest of their life. It seemed only fitting that they would start their new life together in a place that they hold so dear to their hearts. The only thing that was missing were the pups!! We missed their fur babies but with all of the hard work that a DIY wedding entails, it was probably smart to leave the puppies with the sitters. These two worked so hard pulling this day together. They did everything themselves and since our own wedding was in my parent’s backyard, I know the feeling!

Dan + Kathleen

  • An Army Navy Country Club Wedding

was talking to Dan and Kathleen’s planner while shooting their gorgeous reception details, she mentioned that she liked to call the style of this wedding “Kate Spade meets Charleston” and I couldn’t agree more. This gorgeous day had Kathleen’s style written all over it and it was simply stunning. There wasn’t a detail left undone. As I was shooting all of Kathleen’s Kate Spade inspired bridal details, I knew that this was going to be one beautiful wedding day! And it was! Dan and Kathleen were married at the historic Dahlgren Chapel on the campus of Georgetown University. This quaint little church is situated right in the heart of campus. As we arrived to the ceremony, the bag piper was already playing and a few guests were starting to arrive. Anytime there is a bag pipe player, the ceremony seems extra epic to me!

Andrew + Maddie

  • A Summer Lavender Wedding | Vienna, VA

pastor told everyone to have a seat and then he proceeded to say how awesome and uniquely special this ceremony was to him because these two were two of their own. Andrew and Maddie’s families both attend this church and are a part of the same church family. Their pastor shared that when two homegrown kids grow up and decide to get married, it’s such an honor to be a part of their story and I would have to agree. Andrew and Maddie’s ceremony reminded me so much of our own. From getting married in their home church with all of their friends and family surrounding them to their worship team friends leading the music to Andrew’s tears as Maddie walked down the aisle, it took me back to our wedding day. There is something so powerful about that walk down the aisle. Andrew and Maddie had the sweetest first look….but nothing will beat Andrew’s face as he watched his bride walk down the aisle to him during their ceremony.
