called “Maranatha”. Let’s just say this… Michael and I were not THRILLED about this choir but since we both liked music and loved to sing… we gave it a shot. We drove up to Fredericksburg EVERY monday night for rehearsal and met a bunch of new people. We did this for two years and it was fun while it lasted and we made some good friends…but once high school started, we were done. (I promise this story has a point! It’s coming!)
Now fast forward to college. Michael was a freshman, living on a hall with some CRAZY kids…. and what I mean by “CRAZY” is, these guys were being handed alcohol violations left and right. He just didn’t fit in there and even though all of those guys loved him… he knew they weren’t going to be his college friends that he kept in touch with for a lifetime. There was more out there and it wasn’t until this crazy, funny girl walked up to him on campus and said “um, don’t I know you from somewhere?!”. It was Evelyn… and that “somewhere” was MARANATHA!! See, it’s all coming together. Michael, Evelyn and I had all been in Maranatha together and even though we didn’t know each other very well back in the day….the Lord knew what He was doing when He brought Ev back into Michael’s life in college. She introduced him to her friends and they started hanging out…. ALL. THE. TIME. Bev, Paul, Drew, Nate, Amy, etc…. they were inseparable! This group of friends became Michael’s family and it wasn’t long until I had visited CNU enough times to realize that these guys and girls were going to be a part of our life for a LONG time… a REALLY long time. God is faithful….and through Evelyn and Young Life and the amazing community at CNU, Michael had an amazing freshman year of college…. and amazing 4YEARS really!! These friends feel like our family and every time we come together at weddings, it’s amazing!! Nathan and Evelyn’s wedding was no different.
It was a PERFECT October day for an outdoor ceremony. Their venue was amazing and the light in mid October will make any photographer happy!! As the girls got ready, we headed to the first look and I couldn’t help but be so thankful that I got to be a part of this day. Jessie was the main photographer for Ev and Nathan’s wedding but she was also a bridesmaid! So I filled in where I was needed and it was nice to not be in charge the WHOLE day! I loved being there and capturing Ev and Nathan’s joy and the celebration of their love. I could go on and on about these two and write paragraphs about how much I adore Evelyn. Her smile, her humor, her love for her friends, her deep love for the Lord… she’s just wonderful. She’s one of those people that you meet and secretly hope that you can be friends forever. Michael and her are basically the same person when it comes to humor and sarcasm… so when I visited CNU for the first time and saw them interact, I was so thankful. I was so thankful that Michael found a friend that he LOVED spending time with and who could make him laugh CONSTANTLY. So…Evelyn, my sweet friend,…. you have been a such a gift in our lives. You’ll really never understand how much you’re loved by so many people. You’ll never understand how wonderful you are because there just aren’t words to describe how much you mean to us. I PRAY that this new season of life is filled with so much JOY and EXCITEMENT for you and Nathan. You deserve it! Enjoy your new home, your new life and your new husband that God has placed in your life. You are one blessed girl and I’m honored to call you my friend! THANK YOU for allowing me to be by your side on this amazing day!!! It was wonderful!! Love you so much!! xoxo
umm! MONEY SHOT! Why can’t I have a model face like that?! I even practice and everything!!
Her handsome husband…
Ev, you looked amazing.
Some “random” guests showing up for the ceremony:)
Probably the SWEETEST “Daddy giving his girl away” shot I’ve ever taken:)
Such a cool guestbook idea! They can bring this signed pumpkin out every fall and be reminded of their beautiful fall wedding!!
