• Mike + Kristin

There are so many different wedding venues in and around Richmond! Michael and I love it when we have the opportunity to in our own city! This past Saturday, Michael and I spent the day with Mike and Kristin at Lewis Ginter Botanical Gardens. This is such a beautiful place for smaller, more intimate weddings. It’s also a really special place to me because this is the venue where I shot my FIRST real wedding almost 6 years ago! Crazy right?! I can’t believe I’m getting close to the six year mark!! I’ll have to do a blog post about how I’ve improved since the 2008 newbie phase because the images are as different as night and day!! I loved shooting at this amazing location and we were so thankful that the rain totally skipped over us! Mike and Kristin were surrounded by family and friends who just adore them. Their wedding day was quaint, simple and elegant. As I arrived to Kristin’s mom’s home before the wedding,

I was greeted with a hug and a big smile from Mrs. Jones. Kristin’s mom is just the sweetest lady and I immediately felt so welcomed.  This family has been through a lot this past year and while I know it was an emotional day for many, there were more happy tears shed than anything else!! Everyone that shared in Mike and Kristin’s day were so ecstatic for this new phase of life that they were starting together.

The grounds of Lewis Ginter made for some amazing backdrops and I’m so thankful that Kristin and I built in some extra time for their portraits! The light was just incredible and I can’t wait to share my favorites from their day! So without further adieu, here is Mike and Kristin’s wedding day!! …..

Loved this vintage clutch that was Kristin’s grandma’s!

Her momma is so sweet!

So gorgeous!!

Aren’t they the cutest?!

Ohh he was a cute little ball of energy!

Loved this shot of Michaels….

While I took this shot… We’re a good team:)
