Coleman + Leslie
They met
when they were young… they even dated when they were young….and then after they went their separate ways, somehow they ended up at the same school and back in each other’s lives. It wasn’t long before they were official again. This time it was for real. I remember Leslie telling me that they were dating and I knew this was different. There was such a certainty about this relationship and everyone felt the same thing. Maybe that’s because they look like Ken and Barbie… beautiful blue-eyed blondes…or maybe it’s much deeper than how cute they look together… maybe there is a certainty and confidence in their relationship because the foundation of their love is based on something greater than themselves.
Coleman and Leslie love the Lord and that was known by everyone at their ceremony. The words that Justin spoke over them during the ceremony talked about commitment, perseverance and he emphasized that their marriage isn’t just for the two of them. God has big plans for marriages and when two people commit their lives to each other, their relationship doubles in strength and impact and passion. I’m SO excited to see how the Lord uses Coleman and Leslie’s marriage…. especially these next few years while they’re still involved in Young Life and pouring into the lives of high schoolers!
Their wedding day was beautiful…. and yes, there may have been a massive storm during the reception that flooded the tent… but we have awesome friends who can make a party happen anywhere. This was one of the most energetic receptions I’ve been to in a long time!! It was HOT inside that gorgeous plantation home but it was a BLAST. When it storm shows up un-expectantly and changes plans, people get hyped! Everyone was ready to party and create a night for Coleman and Leslie that they would never forget! …. And they did just that!
So Mr. & Mrs. Clark… I love you, I’m so SO honored that Michael and I could be there to capture your day and I’m so excited for you!!! Enjoy your mini-honeymoon this week and your FABULOUS honeymoon in December!!!
