A Country Engagement Shoot | Riverside on the Potomac

  • Brad + Katie | Engaged

couples pick venues that are convenient and within budget but aren’t completely “their style”. That’s just how it happens sometimes. However, every now and then we have a couple that is a PERFECT match for their venue! Brad and Katie are one of those couples. They met us BRIGHT and early for a sunrise shoot at their wedding venue a few days ago. Riverside on the Potomac is a gorgeous venue outside of Leesburg, Virginia and we love it! The barn, the view, the historic house and cabins… it’s amazing! After getting to know these two and learning about what they love and who they are,

A Gold and Red Ballroom Wedding | Winchester, Virginia Photographer

  • Adam + Sarah

She emailed me months and months ago with a question about her dress! Sarah’s email said something along the lines of “So, I think I may have a GOLD wedding dress! Will that photograph well?!” Um, YES!!!! I love bold wedding decisions like this! Sarah wanted something that wasn’t super traditional and so she did her own thing and it turned out beautifully!!! I was in love with the look of this this gold wedding gown! The back of it was to die for and the color tied in perfectly to the theme of this evening ballroom wedding. One of my favorite parts of the day was seeing Adam’s reaction to the dress! She knew that there was a slight chance that he may not love this bold move but that wasn’t the case. He flipped out! As soon as he saw her, he was obsessed and in awe.

I Finally Have a New Camera Bag!!!

  • ONA Bag Review | The Capri

needed a new camera bag for engagement sessions for a LONG time. My old one worked but the edges were peeling up and the way it carried on my shoulder wasn’t ideal. I would sit it down and it would flop over, making it really easy for lenses to roll out. I was just really ready for something NEW. However, I have spent HUNDREDS and HUNDREDS on camera bags in the last 6 years and I wasn’t about to pour more money into something that was only going to last a little over a year. If I was going to spend upwards of $300 on a bag, it needed to be THE ONE!
