This coming August will mark exactly 6 years since I started this crazy business! I honestly can’t believe it’s been THAT long!! When I first started, I didn’t have money to spend on advertising and didn’t have a business plan because I was a college student that was just trying out a dream to see if it would become anything. At first, I had low expectations for my business because I didn’t want to be disappointed when it failed. Who was a kidding? I didn’t have experience in BUSINESS! How was I going to gain an audience and a demand for my services?

A DIY Bride's Crucial Must-Have's

  • Wedding Wednesday

return of Wedding Wednesday posts are happening because I feel like a bride again. We’ve spent the last two weeks working on projects, collecting white porcelain platters and writing on chalkboards. My sister’s wedding is in 2 days. AH! And we’re so excited! Now I wouldn’t call be sister’s wedding full fledged DIY… but we did have a few projects that we needed to get done. We have hired my sweet friend and incredibly talented floral designer, Amanda Veronee to make Joe and Emily’s wedding really come together with color! And so we just needed to piece together some accents to carry the theme and add some unique elements to the day.

A Southern Hotel Roanoke Wedding

  • Robert + Ashley

The room was buzzing with chatter and excitement when I walked in. I always love it when bridesmaids come up and introduce themselves before I have a chance to because it’s just so welcoming! True southern charm! That could have been the overarching theme of this wedding day. From the coordinator to the parents of the bride and groom to the bridal party… everyone was so sweet and welcomed Michael and I with open arms. We absolutely loved this wedding day. The more time I spend around Ashley, the more I adore her. Not only is she radiant and beautiful on the outside but she has a heart of gold and Robert is one blessed man! These two met when Ashley’s family moved to Virginia over ten years ago and man has time flown by! Ashley’s dad toasted to the happy couple right before dinner and explained that it seems like yesterday that this little blonde boy showed up at their house.
