Emy's First Bridal Shower

  • Let the Showering Begin!

my first bridal shower. I had no idea what I was supposed to do. I remember thinking “So people are getting together to give me gifts and then watch me open them?! …. And that’s it?!”. I didn’t really grasp the concept of a shower until AFTER I was a bride! I was one of the first of my friends to get married and so all of this was so new to me! Did you know that there are shower GAMES and TRADITIONS and even SUPERSTITIONS?! These were some of the things that I learned as a bride! It’s fun to watch my sister learn all of these things now that she is a bride!

Big Flakes Call for Family Pics!

  • Snowmageddon 2014

it “snows” and then other times it REALLY snows! Like, flakes the size of quarters! Thats the type of snowfall that requires a mini photo shoot! Yesterday I was sitting at the kitchen table, working on my WPPI presentation when Michael told me to look outside! The flakes were absolutely beautiful!!! And they were coming down hard! It’s the type of snow that you see in the Christmas movies and you think “It never looks like that”. Well yesterday it TOTALLY looked like a movie outside of our house! After a few minutes of watching the snow fall from the kitchen, I realized “Hey! We need family pictures of this!!”.

Ben and Carlyn Engaged-7537

A Rustic Mountainside Engagement

  • Ben + Carlyn | Engaged

you’re a photographer, you tend to see things differently than other people. Old, dead trees, random sets of stairs and a patches of tall grass can be so exciting! What I love about my job, especially the last several years, is the fact that we work with a TON of other photographers! It’s quite an honor!! In my opinion, it’s one of the greatest compliments we receive in our business. When photographers trust us to capture their day, it blows me away!! We have a blast with these couples because they are just like us! I squeal when the light is glowy and they totally understand that!!
