drill this into your head from the time you begin kindergarden…”Believe in yourself! Accomplish your dreams!”. I remember being told that when I was in primary school….all the way through Mrs. Douglas’s english class senior year. However, at the time…. I had no clue what my dreams were. I remember sitting in Trig with one of my close friends and she decided she wanted to be a national geographic photographer…. and I said “Oh… and I’ll be a professional scrapbooker!”…. and I was serious. At the time I liked 3 things….Yearbook, scrapbooking, and crafts.
…I know. You’re probably thinking… “Oh Katelyn… what are you talking about now?!”. These 3 things have NOTHING to do with one another! Welp! These are just some recent “Good Things” that have caught my attention recently and so I’m going to share them… as random as they may be, they are all definitely worthy to be a on a “Good things” post! “Good things” aren’t always cute and stylish and they most certainly do not ALWAYS photograph well. This series exist simply to share a little piece of randomness from my life and maybe someone will be able to adopt one of these “good things” and love them just as much as I do. So lets get to it!
my FIRST worship team practice, EVER….. and there he was. Alex Vargas. At first sight, he can be intimidating… he’s always taller than everyone in the room… however, I quickly found out that Alex Vargas is one of the most gentle spirited people I have ever met. Someone once described him as a big teddy bear and I think that title fits him perfectly. He cares so deeply for people and even though he may never show up to practice on time… he’s one INSANELY TALENTED musician. Alex actually played in the band at OUR wedding ceremony and so when Alex and Rachel asked me to be a part of THEIR wedding day, of course
is this?! A Orange Blossom themed wedding? Love it. Before I show you these images I need to explain myself. I was NOT shooting this wedding, Michael and I flew down to Florida to ATTEND this wedding for our sweet friends, Ryan and Jess. Michael worked with a ministry in North Caroline called Crossroads for a year and he lived in a house with 4 guys, 4 girls and house parents. It was am amazing year for him. Not only did he grow and discover his love for ministry and kids and community… he also made some incredible friendships. Jess was one of his housemates and since they
did Beth and Eric’s maternity session, I loved the letters she brought to spell out Julian’s name… however, his name was a SECRET and so I had to keep these few pics hidden from view until Julian made his grand entrance into the world a few weeks ago! “Julian” is a family name and I love it! So unique and different. I’m all for names that are not on the top 2011 baby name lists. Michael and I just are thinking about getting a puppy and I’m already thinking about unique DOG names!! Anyway…little Julian decided that he was ready to enter the world a couple weeks early and surprised everyone!
