TJ + Sara

A Main Street Station Wedding

We have

experienced a theme recently in our weddings. A lot of our couples have been together for a LONG time… and I’m not talking two years of dating… I’m talking 8 YEARS of dating! Michael and I dated for 8 years before we were married and so we understand just how big of a deal it is to FINALLY tie the knot and move on from “Fiance” to “HUSBAND”! It’s exciting and everyone that has known you for those 8 years is JUST as excited as you are because they have seen this day coming for LONG time! Tj and Sara dated for 8 years and finally made it official this past saturday at the beautiful Main Street Station in downtown Richmond. I overheard one of her bridesmaids saying “This is it! Today is YOUR wedding at Main Street Station!!”. It seemed as if Sara was about to experience the day she had been dreaming of since she was young! It was perfect.

Ask Anything

Working with Videographers
working-with-videographers

I’m not

sure where it started but some where along the line, there became a feud between photographers and videographers. Maybe one person stepped in the other person’s shot a few too many times or may their styles didn’t align and it was hard to work together. I’m not sure what happened but ever since I entered the industry 5 years ago, I have noticed a sense of animosity between photographers and videographers and it’s not very pleasant. Now don’t get me wrong, I’m not living under a rock. I KNOW that it can be hard to work with certain vendors. I’d had my fair share of videographers that step RIGHT in front of the mother of the bride to get a ring shot and totally block my angle.

Connect Retreat 2014

We're Speaking!!

Well

This is fun!! After the Connect Retreat this past year, I didn’t do a massive recap because I knew that down the road, the promotional film would be done and I would want to share it! Well it’s here and it’s AWESOME!!! However, not only do I get the share the film but I’m also SO excited to share that Michael and I will actually be SPEAKING at Connect in 2014!!! We’re so honored! We know we’re such newbies when it comes to being a husband and wife team but we’re so excited to represent the newer crowd at the retreat!!

Andrew + Katie

There

is something SO rewarding about your clients really GETTING what you’re trying to do with your business. The goal of my business isn’t to sell a bunch of marked up stuff and then move on to the next wedding… the goal is to form relationships with my couples and give them an amazing experience that blesses them and leaves them with awesome images of their wedding day! To me, having awesome friendships with my clients is 100x more valuable than any package price. So when we saw Andrew and Katie at Huey and Natalie’s wedding and Andrew said that he couldn’t wait to see us in a week because we felt like old friends, I melted! That’s the goal! That’s why Michael and I absolutely love doing what we do! We have the privilege of meeting the most amazing couples and then we get to celebrate their wedding day with them AND be the ones capturing precious moments! It’s quite an honor!!!

The New House

A Living Room Snippet

The

new house has brought out the perfectionist side of me. People have asked “Are you going to show more pics?!” And my thought is, “Yes of course! …When it’s perfectly decorated!” … Well reality is setting in. Our last home was just under 1300 square feet. I decorated the whole place in one weekend while Michael was on a retreat!! It was so easy because I had tons of frames from college and it didn’t take much to fill up our little house. We like to use the term “cozy” when we refer to our first house! It’s not that our new house isn’t cozy…. it’s just double the size and so what I used to be able to do in a weekend is going to take MONTHS to accomplish!
