A Country Sunrise Shoot

  • Tim + Mary Margaret | Engaged

there were some people that we saw everyday. My roommates, our neighbors, etc. There were also some friends that we only saw every now and then because of the age difference, class schedules and living arrangements. Michael and I have been friends with Mary Margaret and Tim since college but because I wasn’t in Young Life, I didn’t get to see them very often. We share all of the same friends and I have always thought to myself “Gosh, they’re super cute together…. I wonder when they’re getting engaged!!”. Well, the proposal happened this summer and their getting married this winter in the most adorable location!!

A Downtown Ashland Wedding

  • Brendan + Jenna

After dinner was over at the rehearsal, one by one, different friends and family members stood up and shared just how much they love Brendan and Jenna. Groomsmen shared stories and talked about how much respect and love they have for Brendan and bridesmaids stood up and thanked Jenna for being such a trustworthy, intentional friend. However, they didn’t just talk about them separately. EVERYONE shared about how amazing they are as a couple and how they have learned so much from their relationship. It’s a beautiful thing to see two friends who everyone loves and admires, start a life together!! Michael and I just love these two. Brendan was in our bridal party and has been such a loyal friend to Michael over the last 5 years. Jenna has been a part of my life since I was a junior in college and she was a freshman!

How To Shoot Bridal Party Portraits

  • Ask Anything

recent coaching session, I was asked about how I shoot bridal party group portraits. This is a GREAT question and I haven’t blogged about it recently so I hope this post will be helpful for some photographers who struggle with getting those “big” shots done in a timely matter! Timing is the key. If you don’t have a plan and you don’t really know what you’re doing, the bridal party can sense that. You have to take charge and make it happen…. and you need to make it happen FAST because when one shot takes 10 minutes to setup, you’re going to lose their attention AND their excitement!
