A Sarasota Florida Engagement Shoot

close to three years ago when I hosted my first large scale workshop here in Richmond. I was newly married and I finally had a chance to pour my time and energy into teaching and I was really excited about it! We launched registration for the “Sugar Shoot” and I was so pumped to meet the 20 photographers who would be attending! I was SHOCKED when I saw that a young, aspiring photographer would be traveling all the way from FLORIDA! What?!! That’s so crazy!! I couldn’t wait to meet her. That young photographer was Becca! She was so brave to travel up north to spend a day with photographers she didn’t know!

  • Family Vacation

are families that go to the same place for vacation year after year. It could be the beach, or a lakehouse or even a cabin in the mountains. Well the James family has never been one of those families and I love that about us! We grew up traveling for vacations in our RV… whatever that was at the time. We’ve camped in just about EVERY type of camper there is. At one time or another, Daddy has owned a tent, a pop-up camper, a few Class C campers, a few Class A campers, a converted charter bus and a travel trailer or two. The only thing we haven’t camped in is a 5th wheel! Have I lost any of you with all of this RV talk? It’s really a different world of vacationing!

I have been asked on multiple occasions, “So how did you start your business while you were in school??”. I’ll be the first to admit that it wasn’t easy. However, in some ways, it really prepared me well for real life. I was living in a house with 4 of my best friends. We had the time of our lives in that little house!!
