Getting Published | Part 2

  • Ask Anything

again with the Part 2 post of the “How to get my work Published” series! This is a question that a lot of photographers ask us and I’m excited to finish the series with some serious take-home items that you can implement today! The goal of these Ask Anything posts is to give other photographers some tips and specific steps to move their businesses forward and getting featured is a big part of growth! A Mount Ida Farm Wedding

  • Mike + Jessica

As we drove over to the house where Jess would be having her First Look with Mike, she told us that she has never experienced anything in her life that seemed THIS RIGHT. Sure, she was nervous and anxious but those feelings were stemming from pure excitement and joy! The catering, the venue, the dress, the bridal party, the first look…. it was all happening so fast. Jessica and Mike shared their first look under a tree covered driveway at their ceremony venue and it couldn’t have been sweeter! By their excitement, you would have thought that they hadn’t seen each other in DAYS!! Their friendship and their connection to one another is just unbelievably sweet. As I coached them through their portrait time, I said that I didn’t even need to give them any instruction! They are just naturally photogenic and their interactions are so precious!!

Sometimes I have a problem with taking my own advice. I tell my coaching gals to blog and openly proclaim their CRAZY dreams and yet I have NEVER done a post about what I envision for my business. HYPOCRITE! There is SO much value in sharing what you are hoping for and striving for but there is also a great risk. If I tell you some of the goals I have for my business and openly share my dreams….what happens if they NEVER come true. How embarrassing right? I think it’s that fear of failure and not meeting my own standards that I have set for myself that has kept me from writing this post. After my first year in business
